Karen Bass / Executive in Training, Sales Leader, ADP

Karen is currently an Executive in Training Sales Leader at ADP. She has 23 years of sales and marketing experience.  Karen is also a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, which lends itself to a unique analytical skill set that combines marketing and data analysis.   She has also worked for Xerox Corporation, Eastman Kodak Company and Pitney Bowes.  She is incorporated under the name Bass Business Solutions LLC., where she has served as a LSS business consultant.

Karen holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with an emphasis in Marketing from Georgia State University and an Executive MBA from Kennesaw State University’s, Coles College of Business in Kennesaw, GA.  Karen and husband Anthony are the proud parents to Anthony Jr., who is a senior at Shaw University in Raleigh, NC.  She is a member of the Atlanta Beltline Tax Allocation District Advisory Board. Karen also enjoys playing golf and tennis with family, friends and co-workers.

Joe Sullivan / Division Vice President, ADP

Joe Sullivan, Division Vice President of Sales for ADP, is a Talent Management professional with 18 years experience in Human Capital Management. Joe is currently responsible for ADP’s global talent sales organization and unified suite of products including but not limited to Recruiting, Performance, Compensation, Succession and Learning technologies. Recently, Joe led ADP’s efforts to create, build, align and develop a worldwide sales organization and strategy that complimented and enhanced ADP’s position in the Talent/HCM market. These efforts have resulted in $10M sales growth over a 15-month period within ADP’s fast growing Talent market.

Holly Bass / CEO, Cobb Travel & Tourism

Holly A. Bass became the CEO of Cobb Travel & Tourism in December 2010.  She is responsible for CT&T’s operations, including strategic planning, finance, sales and marketing.  Cobb Travel & Tourism is responsible for promoting and generating tourism, convention, trade show and sports development activity throughout Cobb County.

Previously, she was Chief Operating Officer for the Cobb Chamber of Commerce.   She joined the Chamber in 2000 and has served in many additional roles including Vice President of Membership and Operations and Marketing and Communications Director.

Very active in the community, Bass chaired the 2011 Gobble Jog for MUST Ministries.  She also is a member of the United Way of Cobb County Campaign Cabinet and the YWCA Tribute to Women Committee.

Bass was named a 40 Under 40 by Georgia Trend magazine in 2006.  In 2007 she received the prestigious YWCA of Northwest Georgia Women of Achievement Award, and in 2008 she was given the Up and Comers Award by the Atlanta Business Chronicle.  Most recently, she was named one of the 20 Under 40 in Cobb Life magazine.

Holly served as a Volunteer Probation Officer for Cobb County Superior Court for 13 years.  She graduated from the Regional Leadership Institute in 2011, is a 2000 graduate of Leadership Cobb and 2003 graduate of Honorary Commanders.

A native of Cobb County (GA), she is a graduate of the University of Georgia.

Gabriel Eckert / Executive Director, BOMA Georgia

Gabriel is a practicing nonprofit executive, currently serving as Executive Director of the Building Owners and Managers Association of Georgia (BOMA Georgia), a trade association representing the management segment of commercial real estate. With more than 1,000 members, it is the second largest organization of its kind in the nation. He is responsible for overall management of the organization. He has extensive expertise in governance, leadership, strategic planning, new market development and management. He also has significant experience in corporate social responsibility and environmental sustainability.

A certified association executive, Gabriel currently serves as chair of the Georgia Society of Association Executives Foundation, past chair of the Board of Directors of the Green Chamber of the South, and on the Construction Management Advisory Board for Southern Polytechnic State University. Gabriel received a national emerging leader scholarship from the American Society of Association Executives in 2006, and has been named three times by the Atlanta Business Chronicle as one of the Top 100 Who’s Who in Commercial Real Estate, a list of “100 leaders, dealmakers and legends who are changing Atlanta.” In 2009, Gabriel was named by the Atlanta Business Chronicle as one of the Top 40 Under 40 in metro-Atlanta. And in 2012, he was one of 5 individuals to receive the national Young and Aspiring Award from Association Trends. He is also co-author of the book From Insight to Action: 6 New Ways to Think, Lead and Achieve.

Gabriel earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Kansas State University, where he was named the Dean of Student Life Outstanding Graduating Senior. Since then, he has earned a Management Certificate from Emory University and an Advanced Leadership Certificate from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He also earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Kennesaw State University, where he was named the University Scholar, recognizing him as the top student in the Executive MBA class of 2011.

John Patrick/ Campus Recruiting Manager, AirWatch

John Patrick has worked at AirWatch since January of 2012.  Prior to joining AirWatch, John spent 7 years at CNN, building their internationally recognized journalism internship program as well as directing the recruiting effort for all entry to mid-level hires at CNN.  After his time with Turner Broadcasting, John also served as the Campus Relations Manager at Atlanta based Newell Rubbermaid, where he managed their North American campus recruiting effort.

Chris Sibold/ Channel Account Manager, AirWatch

Chris Sibold is responsible for the North American education market at AirWatch, one of the largest verticals in the company.  In this role, Chris is responsible for developing and maintaining successful relationships with the ecosystem of value-added partners who assist K-12 and Higher Education customers adopt mobile technology as part of their learning infrastructure.

Prior to his current role Chris held software sales and business development positions with IBM and Red Hat, providing enterprise infrastructure products and services to both commercial and Federal customers.  While at Red Hat his account team identified and captured a $34 million project for the rail industry, the largest opportunity in company history at the time.  Chris is also a former United States Air Force Captain and has led logistics organizations supporting the Global War on Terrorism in multiple locations including South Korea and Iraq.

Winston Wilson/ Director of Sales, First Data Corporation

Winston Wilson is the Director of Sales for First Data Corporation with over fifteen years of experience in the merchant processing industry.   He has held positions in sales, operations, and training.  He has had an active role in many First Data strategic and developmental relationships in his tenure with the company.  Winston currently leads several sales team in the Atlanta area with responsibilities involving business development, project leadership, and bottom line results.

Karen Finger / President, The National Association of Telecom Professionals (ATP)

Karen Finger has over 20 years of experience in the communications and technology industry.  She has held leadership positions in sales, service and product delivery, customer lifecycle operations, network design, and software development working with the largest enterprise and service provider clients with companies such as Nortel, Sprint, and currently, CenturyLink Business.

Karen is an active leader and “connector” in the Atlanta business community serving as President of the Association of Telecommunications Professionals (ATP), a non-profit industry association.  She has been actively involved with ATP since 2008, and has held various leadership roles on the board including Vice President and Director.   Karen has also chaired the prestigious ATP Awards Gala in 2009 and 2011, which recognizes and promotes leadership, innovation, and excellence in Georgia.

Vaughn Williams / Athletic Director & Presidential Cabinet Member, Kennesaw State University

Vaughn Williams brings his extensive knowledge and experience of collegiate athletics to the position of athletic director at Kennesaw State University. On April 12, 2011, University President Dr. Dan Papp announced at the conclusion of a national search that Williams would fill the void created by the retirement of Dr. Dave Waples, who had been the department’s athletic director since 1987. Williams officially took his post on May 2, stepping in for Senior Associate Athletic Director Scott Whitlock, who had served as Interim Athletic Director since Waples’ departure in August, 2010.

Prior to accepting the job at Kennesaw State, Williams has had a prestigious six-plus year tenure at the University of Connecticut. While there, Williams served as Associate Athletic Director, with his responsibilities mainly involving strategic planning, facility master planning and policy and procedure improvement. He also served as chair of the University of Connecticut’s Sportsmanship/Fan Environment Initiative Committee. At Connecticut, Williams directed the operation and management of 11 campus athletic facilities for 24 varsity sports and 600 student-athletes, as well as the university’s recreational/intramural program, which serves 3,500 participants.

He also oversaw the Huskies’ event management team that provides support to varsity sports, including the hosting of Big East and NCAA post-season events. In addition, Williams served as the program’s home game administrator for football and basketball games. Before arriving at Connecticut, Williams had over 10 years of NCAA Division I athletics experience. He was a staple at Boston College in their athletic department as an assistant athletic director for six years from 1998-2004. While working at Boston College, he earned his Masters degree in Administrative Studies.

Williams got his start working in collegiate athletics at the University of Utah. During his two years there, Williams went from the Assistant Director of Finance to the Director of Finance before leaving for the University of Toledo, where he served as the Associate Athletic Director of Business Affairs from 1996-1998.

Williams’ experience in athletics reaches beyond the boundaries of administration. Earning his bachelor’s degree in Sport Management from the University of Massachusetts (UMass) in 1992, Williams was a four-year letter winner in football at UMass.

Williams and his wife, Eileen, have three children.

In this edition of Global Leader Radio, host Alvin C. Miles interviews Lisa Moore. Lisa describes how Human Resources influences business outcomes, strengthens leaders capabilities and can become more of a business partner within an organization.

 

Lisa Moore / Vice President of Client Services, P2 Excellence

Lisa is an Human Resources leader with broad-based experience in both mid-size and large ($250m – $4.5b) organizations operating in the retail, distribution, manufacturing and service sectors. She has international experience with businesses and projects, specifically in the Americas and Europe. Lisa has had specific responsibility for creating compensation and benefits programs that allow an organization to attract and retain talent, and with building bench strength through management development.  She has spent her career working for Atlanta based companies and has a strong generalist background in HR.

She began her career finding and acquiring the people needed to ensure businesses could meet their strategic goals. Working as a HR Director at small to large organizations, Lisa has had responsibility for designing and managing Performance Management systems to link organizational goals and objectives to each role and to build high performing teams, managing the people side of mergers and acquisitions, and creating more effective HR teams and delivery.

Education:

She received her BA in Management from Georgia State University, while concentration on Human Resources subjects.  In addition she has her Senior Human Resources Professional certification.
