Mark Mobley/ Georgia CALLS

Executive Director

Mark, a pastor and city council member, joined with Georgia CALLS in 2015 to bring his wealth of business, pastoral, and non-profit knowledge to the table. With years of experience in both the public and non-profit arenas, Mark is purposefully leading the talented team at Georgia CALLS to help carve a path for returning citizens here in the Atlanta area to restore their lives, rebuild their families, and give back to their own communities after a successful reentry. List 5-8 Topics or Questions for Interview: What is Georgia CALLS? Why Georgia CALLS? What difference does it make? What process led you to get involved in prisoner reentry? What would you say to those who think, “Why give them a second chance? They’ve already committed a crime.”? Is it wise to provide “charity” to people coming out of prison? (Alternatively, “How is Georgia CALLS different from other charities? What is unique about your approach?”) You’ve mentioned that Georgia CALLS is a pilot program. What kind of results have you seen so far? What is the most important lesson that you have learned over the last 18 months? Why should Georgia CALLS matter to the business community? What are your plans for the future? How can you scale what you are doing to make a larger impact? (Alternatively, “20 people is a drop in the bucket compared to the scale of the problem. Can you speak to how Georgia CALLS can exert influence on a larger scale?”) How can a business help or partner with Georgia CALLS?

Bob Littell / NetWeaving International

Chief NetWeaver

Although Bob’s background for the last 47 years has been in financialservices, his real passion for the last 17 years is a concept he createdcalled Netweaving. NetWeaving is almost the reverse of more traditional ‘networking’ because it’s focused on helping others, rather than the more ‘self-serving’ networking. With permission of Catherine Ryan Hyde, author of the book on which the popular movie was based – “Pay It Forward”, NetWeaving is now known internationally as the ‘business’ version of ‘pay iit forward’. Bob was the first elected of the Pay it Forward Foundation and still serves on their Board.

Jane McCracken / Georgia Tech ATDC

Entrepreneur in Residence

Jane McCracken is an Entrepreneur in Residence at the ATDC at Georgia Tech, one of the oldest and most successful high tech business incubators in the US. Jane uses her experience as a serial entrepreneur to mentor and coach a variety of technology businesses from ideation through product development, fund raising and business growth. Jane started her career in venture capital and investment banking in both the US and Europe before joining an early stage medical diagnostics company which grew from start-up through an IPO and beyond. She then worked as CEO and co-founder of an online travel company, growing it from start-up into the second largest hotel booking site in the world before it was acquired by Travelocity. And followed that experience by leading a computer games developer through a turn around before it was sold to a NASDAQ-listed company. Most recently, Jane was CEO of an oncology-focused clinical research company, which grew from a start-up with one office into a multi-national company with offices across Europe and North America. The company was financed through its own cash flow and was sold in 2012 to a larger CRO. Jane has served on boards for public and private companies, as well as government-related and non-profit organizations. She is a frequent speaker and panelist at conferences, companies and universities and is an active volunteer in the community. Jane earned her BA at Wake Forest University and her Masters degree at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

KSUEntrepreneurship

The Shrimp Tank brings you interviews with some of the most successful business owners in the United States to learn the do’s and don’ts of starting and running a successful business. Then, the fun really starts when we bring in high school and college students to pitch their business ideas to the Shrimp Tank. We don’t fund any business, but we do teach kids how to turn their business ideas into a successful business.
