Today, Dan and John are Realtors with Coldwell Banker Apex Realty. Both have the designation “Senior Real Estate Specialist” (SRES). The SRES designation is a certification demonstrating that these two gentlemen have made a commitment to serve the unique requirements of seniors in real estate. Growing up in St. Petersburg, Florida, Octavia Jones Samba got her first taste of serving seniors working at a skilled nursing community after school. She tells us how she helped a 90 year old patient when others didn’t know how to help. As a teenager, Octavia was already hooked on seniors! She went to nursing school in Florida, and came to Atlanta in 1983. Octavia first started working in hospice in 2005. After a brief time away from hospice, she was drawn back by Agape Hospice a little over a year ago when Agape served a member of her family. Today, Octavia is the Director of Business Development for Agape Hospice. She tells us that Agape’s difference is in their personal touch. Agape Hospice can be reached at (404) 763-1456. Chances are, however, Octavia will be in the field, so reach her on her mobile phone at (678) 557 7205. For the more technically inclined, she can be reached via email at jonesoctavia@bellsouth.net.

Ole! Quick and Easy Breakfast Burrito Recipe

We eat a lot of breakfast burrito’s at our house. they’re quick and easy to make and each person can customize it with ingredients they like. So here’s the basic breakfast burrito recipe. All you need are warmed up flour tortillas and some scrambled eggs. My kid likes bacon and cheese. I prefer sauteed peppers. Three Sleepover Tips for Kids and Parents

Having a sleepover is a fairly recent development. It started when families left the cities and started to move out into the suburbs – sometime in the 1960s. For some kids sleeping over a friends house is exciting and they jump at the chance. Other kids feel anxiety at the thought of sleeping away from the comfort of their home and their own bed. If your kid seems nervous about the idea when you two are alone you might want to try these tips to calm him/her down a bit.
- Try to make the first sleepover at a friend who lives nearby
- Have your child bring a favorite pillow or blanket
- Explain that different houses have different rules (sometimes this works in the kid’s favor – sometimes not so much)
What tips did I leave out? How do you help your kid make it through the night when they are sleeping over a friend’s house?
