Drink your coffee black or with skim milk and artificial sweeteners. When making a sandwich substitute most of the regular meat with a soy meat product then put real meat on the top and bottom of the stack of meat. This way you get the flavor of real meat but save a bunch of calories. This works great with bologna. And finally dilute all your full sugar sodas with water or sparkling water. On today’s show Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy had on Matt McClellan. Matt lost 25 pounds on an all pizza diet. He ate 1 slice of pizza every 3 hours. These slices were very nutritious though – some had meat – some had vegetables and some had fruit. This proves what Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy have been saying for years – that pizza is a health food. Not only did Matt lose a bunch of weight he also lowered his blood pressure, lowered his cholesterol and lost about 10% of his body fat. Matt does own a pizza shop in Florida so he has an easy time getting custom made pizza. But good news – he created the 30 Day Pizza Diet so anybody can do it. He also created  the Tour de Pizza which is a bike ride up the East Coast that stops at a bunch of pizza joints along the way. In one skillet stir fry in olive oil onions, jalapeno peppers, tomatoes, and spices. In another skillet scramble up some eggs. When they are both nearly done mix them together real good. On today’s show Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy had on Randy Karp author of Misinformed About Food. This book researches the researchers. Barry Sears, author of The Zone Diet called this book a “must have.” Randy says you are what you eat ate. So you have to keep in mind what the food you are eating was eating. Especially fish – they are like sponges – they absorb all the stuff that is in the ocean around them – and in some parts of the world that means lots of toxins and contaminants.   He says to forget about superfoods and go for super nutrients. There are plenty of boring foods like broccoli and tomatoes that are great for you.  Randy explains why cold water fish are better than farm raised and where you can get the best olive oil in the world. In today’s Wellness Minute Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy share their favorite Persian pizza recipe. Using a bread that is more like a wrap than bread is how Dr Fitness came up with this recipe. He uses a Persian flat bread called lavash.  First, brush the lavash with olive oil then spoon on your favorite tomato sauce; then add your veggies and mozzarella cheese. Pre-heat your oven so its really hot then put the pizza in. you should be eating a thin and crispy pizza in less than 15 minutes.  Listen right now to hear Dr Fitness’ tips.
