In today’s Wellness Minute Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy share a favorite quinoa salad recipe. Quinoa is a grain (kind of like couscous) that the Inca’s from Peru and the Andes Mountain region used to love. It is a very good protein for a grain. Sometimes it is hard to find in traditional grocery stores but you can usually get it in Whole Foods – I’ve seen it at Costco. To make this salad you cook up a cup then add your favorite chopped up vegetables like, onions, cucumbers, basil. toss in some pine nuts for a crunch. then you can make a healthy dressing from extra virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar, garlic and lemon. mix together and eat up.  Listen right now to hear Dr Fitness’ tips. A real big, long term study from the American Cancer Society has shown that people who sit for 6 or more hours each day are at a higher risk of premature death. That is even if they exercise. So it is important to get up throughout the day and walk around. Get a treadmill for your office and walk at a slow pace. Stand more. Whenever you are on the phone get up and pace around the room. Headshot2

Mark Reyland of Obvious Ideas LLC explains the concept of separation between the inventing planet, where there are no rules, and the business planet where everything is governed by a set of rules. Every inventor headed to the market must first pass through the business planet, and when you don’t know the neighborhood you may want to get a map.

Since childhood – Mr. Reyland has successfully traversed the often turbulent waters of Entrepreneurship, Inventing, and Product Development several times. Mark is a Product Inventor with 5 patents under application, and currently Founder and CEO of Obvious Ideas LLC – a Cincinnati based product development company specializing in providing fully developed products to standard retail and the Direct Response industry.

An avid student of the invention and product development process – Mr. Reyland, is notably one of the few professionals in the industry who routinely takes responsibility for the form, function, and market viability of an idea. Using a hands-on approach to the entire development and distribution process, and ultimately making certain every consumer who purchases his products gets the maximum value for their dollar.

Although Mr. Reyland does product development consulting for other companies, most evenings you’ll find him on the phone mentoring young inventors through the process of developing their dream. Mr. Reyland’s inventions and products have been widely published in magazines and trade journals
