A negative calorie food is one in which the amount of calories it takes to digest the food is more than the amount of calories the food has. For example say a piece of broccoli has about 25 calories and it takes your body 80 calories of energy to digest that piece of broccoli then you have theoretically created a deficit of 55 calories. So according to this theory you are losing weight while eating certain foods. Foods that burn a lot of calories to digest tend to be healthy fruits and vegetables like: berries, celery, grapefruit, cabbage and cauliflower. Sounds a little fishy but eating more fruits and vegetables are good for you. Listen right now to hear Dr Fitness’ tips.
