Healthy Skeptic. Today he shared some scientific truths about organic fruits, vegetables and meats. Organic fruits are those grown without pesticides and organic meats have not been injected with antibiotics and hormones. Watchers Inspiring Stories of Change contest. Kimberly needed to lose 40 pounds in order to be at a healthy weight so she could donate a kidney to her sick child who was suffering from Multicystic Dysplastic Disease. Her child was born with just one kidney and it was only functioning at 17%. Kimberly’s husband was not a match but she was. So she had to lose the weight – her child’s life literally depended on it. She explained that losing weight lowers your risk of heart disease and lots of other diseases as well. She suggested eating oatmeal in the mornings as a healthy breakfast. She feels that people need support in order to stay compliant to their exercise and weight loss programs. And she begrudgingly agreed with the Fat Guy’s theory that you diet for weight loss and exercise for health. She added that exercise helps with weight maintenance once you lose weight.
