In today’s Wellness Minute Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy explain how to choose the right egg for you. There are so many egg choices – which do you choose – egg whites, brown eggs, designer anti-oxidant infused eggs, farm fresh eggs, or store brands. Comparing the cost of the most expensive to the cheapest can be sometimes double. Dr Fitness says for the best value buy the store brand white eggs – that’s right go with the cheapest eggs. If you want to use only the whites – separate them yourself and save some money. Brown eggs have the same nutrition as white – they just cost more. And grocery store eggs can be safer than the eggs some guy is selling from the back of his truck. Listen right now to hear Dr Fitness’ tips. Today Carla answered about a dozen fitness questions we received from the Twitterverse. Here is a quick recap of some of her answers: never stretch cold, attitude is everything, pay attention to your rate of perceived exertion, try swimming for people with knee problems, consistency is critical with your cardio, beef jerky is a great power snack, identify your specific language of encouragement – everyone needs support a little differently, and remember for good health you must: stretch, do your cardio, lift weights and eat clean. recently nominated for an award for his desk at CES. This amazingly large workspace is 72″ x 34″ and fits over the treadmill that you already own that is gathering dust in your garage. According to Dr Fitness this will change the way you work. In his perfect world workers will move from cubicles to treadmill desks like the TrekDesk. Steve explained that by walking at a slow 1 mph pace all day long you can burn a significant amount of calories. For example sitting down burns about 15 calories an hour – standing burns about 50 calories an hour and walking at 1 mph can burn over 100 calories an hour. And at that non-strenuous slow pace you barely even notice you are doing anything – you’re not tired or sweating. It’s even better for your back than slouching over your computer all day. All you listeners who work at home and want to lose weight – you have to check this out. To learn more please go to
