BRX Pro Tip: Create Content Your Prospects are Looking For

Stone Payton: [00:00:00] And we are back with Business RadioX Pro Tips. Lee Kantor and Stone Payton here with you. Lee, when it comes to content marketing, thought leadership, promotion, it’s really important. It sounds so simple but create content your prospects are looking for.

Lee Kantor: [00:00:19] Right. And when I’m saying – and when you say that, it’s important to understand, create it so that it’s on your website in the exact words that your prospects are using because this is the power of search engine optimization, and this is at the heart of it. You have to understand what your prospects are searching for that you want to appear as the solution.

Lee Kantor: [00:00:42] So in order – and the easier way to do that is to put that actually on your website and that’s why frequently asked questions sections are important on a website. If you can type in a question that your prospect is searching for, verbatim, in the language that they use to search, and then have your answer to that question, then when they search, that question is going to show up as an entry, a search entry, and your answer is going to be there when they click on it to go and see what you said about it.

Lee Kantor: [00:01:13] So if you can ask and answer the questions that most people want to know on your website, your website is going to be a result and you’re going to show up when your prospect is looking for an answer of something that you can deliver on. So, make sure when you’re creating content that you’re addressing verbatim what your prospects are searching for. Your website has to include some of the answers to the questions your prospects are searching for, like verbatim, not kind of not in your own kind of words. Use the words of your prospects throughout your website so that your website comes up as the search entry when your prospect is looking for a solution like yours.

BRX Pro Tip: Everyone on Your Team Should be a Salesperson

Stone Payton: [00:00:00] And we are back with Business RadioX Pro Tips. Lee Kantor and Stone Payton here with you. Lee, so many of us in small and medium sized businesses have come to develop some skills in selling, and have come to accept that’s part of our role. But the truth is, everyone on your team should be a sales person.

Lee Kantor: [00:00:22] Right. Everybody on your team should be empowered to either actually sell something or tee up a sale to the appropriate person. Everybody on your team should know what that ideal prospect looks like. Everyone on your team should know at least the elevator pitch for your business. And everyone on your team should know what a good referral source looks like.

Lee Kantor: [00:00:47] It’s so important in today’s world that’s so competitive and it’s hard. So, you need as much help as possible. And the easiest place to find help are the people that are working with you. So, make sure that everybody on your team can either sell somebody something or actively introduce the appropriate person to you so you can sell something. Because nobody eats if there are no sales, so get as many people out there hunting for sales as you possibly can.

BRX Pro Tip: How to be a Power Connector

Stone Payton: [00:00:00] Welcome back to Business RadioX Pro Tips. Stone Payton and Lee Kantor here with you. Lee, you’ve been reading a book, How to Be a Power Connector. What did you learn?

Lee Kantor: [00:00:11] This is a book by Judy Robinett. She wrote How to be a Power Connector. And in her book, she talks about eight ecosystems where you need to build influence if you really want to be this power connector. And those eight ecosystems are family and friends, passions and interests, your profession, the government, finance, media, industry, and community.

Lee Kantor: [00:00:38] And if you look at that list right now for yourself, how many relationships do you have in each of those ecosystems right now? And how do you serve the people who you need to know that are in each of those?

Lee Kantor: [00:00:53] At Business RadioX, we’re kind of lucky in that we can build relationships and gain influence with any of those groups we want elegantly in that scale. That’s one of the kind of competitive advantages we have over most other businesses. In our business, we can insert ourselves into any ecosystem we’d like and begin serving them, begin building influence, and building a network within it.

Lee Kantor: [00:01:17] That’s why I’m a big fan of Judy Robinett’s book, How to Be a Power Connector, because I think that a lot of folks want to be a power connector, but they don’t have a tool at their disposal to help them become that power connector. And with Business RadioX, we have that tool that allows you to become that power connector in any niche or any ecosystem that you need to be participating in.

BRX Pro Tip: Pre-Launching Your Business

Stone Payton: [00:00:00] And we are back with Business RadioX Pro Tips. Stone Payton and Lee Kantor here with you this afternoon. Lee, when you find yourself, you’re already employed, but you have aspirations toward building out a business. And often the thinking is, “Man, when I’m on the other side of this and I exit here, I am going to go into this business or that business.” Your counsel is to, you know, begin planning your business launch while you’re still working. Yeah?

Lee Kantor: [00:00:32] Yeah. I think it’s really important, especially if you have a dream of being self-employed or being an entrepreneur down the road, start now. Start kind of flushing out what that business would look like, what that launch would look like. Just start kind of creating the foundation for that, and you will see that when the time comes to take that leap, you are ready and you’re going to have a running start.

Lee Kantor: [00:00:56] The worst time to launch a new business is the day after you’ve been fired. If you’ve just been fired yesterday and you’re like, “Okay. Well, now, it’s go time. Now, I’ve got to figure stuff out.” You’re going to make decisions that may not serve you in the long term. But if you had been planning this for days, weeks, months ahead of time, at least you have kind of thought through and vetted some of the things and tested even some of the things before the launch. And you’re not kind of figuring things out as you go.

Lee Kantor: [00:01:25] There’s a lot of uncertainty in any type of business, but the more time you have the plan, that’s a luxury. So, if you have a job right now that’s paying, you go and start building that foundation, start testing things, start kind of building out the plan so that it’s there when you need it. And you’re going to be able to launch a lot more effectively and a lot more dynamically than if it’s just an urgent thing that, “Hey, I need money to come in tomorrow, so how am I going to figure this out?”

Lee Kantor: [00:01:53] You might make decisions that aren’t going to really serve you in the long run. So, it’s a lot better to get this running start rather than have to do this whole setup and launch while you’re in this emotional, chaotic state.
