BRX Pro Tip: Choose Your Clients Wisely

Stone Payton: [00:00:00] And we are back with Business RadioX Pro Tips, Stone Payton and Lee Kantor here with you. Actually, as I was typing the title to record this tip, I typed in, choose your friends wisely. But what we’re really doing here, our counsel is, choose your clients wisely, right?

Lee Kantor: [00:00:18] Yeah. I think people underestimate the power they have when it comes to curating their clients. You don’t have to serve everybody. You get to pick who your clients are. So, like you said, choose them wisely. Pick only clients that want to work with you. Pick clients that appreciate you for what you’re doing and see the value of your service.

Lee Kantor: [00:00:43] Remember, the more that you can just hone in on this perfect client, then you’re going to be doing work that matters for the people that matter most to you. You’re not going to just be settling and doing work you dread with clients you hate. You don’t want to do that, especially in professional services. You should really kind of differentiate yourself and differentiate your clients and understand that your work is not for everybody. Just get clear on who the perfect person is and then serve the heck out of them. You’re going to be a lot happier. And in the long run, you’re going to be a lot more successful.

Voodoo Brewery started as a client of franchise sales company Raintree, and Brent Dowling and his partner Mike Edwards believed so much in the brand and its position in the $33 billion craft beer industry, that they purchased the franchise rights to help the brand grow.

Matteo-Rachocki-Voodoo-BreweryVoodoo Brewing Co. currently has seven corporate locations, with three under development in Las Vegas, Nevada and Indiana, Pennsylvania. In addition to Raintree purchasing the franchising rights, Dowling and Edwards plan to open a Voodoo Brewery location in Denver, Colorado.

CEO Matteo Rachocki, runs his business off simplicity, making his franchise simple to operate by providing a brewing expert to create all the beers for owners and a “European beer hall” environment that allows customers to order and pick up at a counter, eliminating the need for traditional servers and minimizing labor.

BRX Pro Tip: Don’t Rely on Social Media

Stone Payton: [00:00:00] And we are back with BRX Pro Tips. Lee Kantor and Stone Payton here with you. Lee, social media has been a marvelous tool, but our counsel is do not rely only on social media.

Lee Kantor: [00:00:15] Right. It’s important to understand the limitations of social media. On one hand, it is a free platform, in most cases, for you to go and spread the word about what you’re doing, and that’s fantastic. But what happens over time – and we’ve been burned time and time again, and it’s important to not forget that – each one of these platforms, whether it’s Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, any of them, at first, it’s easy, and they want you to share, and bring all your people there, and interact with them but, over time, what they do is start kind of throttling back your access to your own community. They start making it harder and harder for you to share with your own community unless you write them a check.

Lee Kantor: [00:00:57] So, my advice is to get off those platforms as quickly as possible. Move your community to your own private platform, so that you do not have to pay that platform tax to communicate with your people. So, do whatever you got to do, whether it’s get an email list or a database of any kind, move your people to your own platform, so you can talk to them whenever you want for free instead of relying on these other platforms that you’re going to have to pay if you want to reach your own people. So, to me, that becomes silly. At first, we didn’t know about it. Now, we all know about it. So, lean on social media, that’s fine, but try to move as many people as you can off of it to your own platform, so you can talk to them when you want to on your own terms for free.

Jill Heineck’s Tactical Tips for Selling Your House in Today’s Environment

Transcript

Lee Kantor: [00:00:05] Welcome to Jill Heineck’s Tactical Tips For Selling Your House In Today’s Environment. I’m Lee Kantor. Jill, today’s question is, what’s this I’m hearing about selling my house virtually?

Jill Heineck: [00:00:16] So, believe it or not, there are many people who can not or do not want to physically go into a home. So, what we are doing is walking them through a home on FaceTime or through Zoom if it’s something that’s piquing their interests, whether they’re a local buyer or someone that is moving from a different part of the country or the world to the Atlanta market. And we are showing them property this way and they are making offers and going under contract this way. So, what we do know is that buyers are willing to do this. Is it the number one practice? Absolutely not. But it’s certainly a way to get your home under contract and to get buyers feeling comfortable with the process of buying your home without actually having to step into it.

BRX Pro Tip: First Things First

Stone Payton: [00:00:00] And we are back with Business RadioX Pro Tips. Lee Kantor and Stone Payton here with you. Lee, first things first.

Lee Kantor: [00:00:09] Yeah, absolutely. This is one of the easiest ways to have a productive day and feel good about what you’ve accomplished. If you can really prioritize and tenaciously do the most important thing on your to-do list first thing each and every day, then every day is going to be a good day, every day will be a productive day, and every day you’re going to move the ball.

Lee Kantor: [00:00:29] I think what people do over time is that they don’t do that most important thing. I think there was a book called Eat the Frog. They don’t do the hardest thing. They keep kind of pushing it off and they never get to it. And then, a day goes by, a week goes by. And then, soon, you haven’t done it. And then, you really have time notice that that is not moving the ball. You’re not really doing the hard work that needs to be done in order to get real results.

Lee Kantor: [00:00:55] So, I recommend, if you want to see real results over time, you’ve got to do the hard thing, you’ve got to do the most important thing first. Knock it out, get it done. You’re going to create momentum for the day. Even if you don’t get to the other stuff, it doesn’t matter because you did the hard thing, the most important thing first. So, do that. You’ll see real results over time. Slowly and steadily, you will succeed. Just don’t get distracted by less important things, unimportant things that don’t really move the needle. That’s kind of doing work that doesn’t matter. If you do the work that does matter, you will move the ball, and you will make a difference.
