BRX Pro Tip: Success Story – Wealth Management Firm

Stone Payton: [00:00:00] Welcome back to Business RadioX Pro Tips. Lee Kantor and Stone Payton here with you this morning. Lee, for our success story series, wealth management firm.

Lee Kantor: [00:00:12] Yeah. We had a client that came to us, they were a wealth management firm, and they were having a difficult time differentiating themselves from all the other financial advisory firms that were in the market. So, we talked about the types of clients that were important to them, who were they really good at serving. And they kind of landed or we landed on family business. Business owners were a good market for them as a whole, and specifically family owned businesses. That was an area that they thought they could do a really good job in serving them and really provide a lot of value for them.

Lee Kantor: [00:00:51] So, we said that we would create a family business radio show that would talk about the good, the bad, and the ugly about running a family owned business. And for people who aren’t familiar about family owned businesses, there’s a lot of kind of unique aspects about them that traditional businesses don’t have to deal with. Like, they have to deal with the family member who isn’t part of the business that still might, in the future, financially benefit from the sale of the business. Or a succession plan, a lot of time the person running the business wants to keep working until they’re, you know, 70, 80 years old. And then, this kind of makes it where the younger person never gets a chance to lead. And they could be, you know, 50 years old and never having a chance to kind of put their stamp on things.

Lee Kantor: [00:01:39] So, there’s a lot of challenges on that, not even talking about, like, how do they handle holidays and family events. So, there’s a lot of kind of landmines in that. So, we talked about all those things. And what this did was, in the short period of time, it enabled our client to penetrate that space, become an authority in that space. They were invited to go to events, conferences, because they were no longer seen as a vendor. They were seen as a trusted resource to that ecosystem, and it really impacted their business in a positive way.

BRX Pro Tip: Ways to Connect with People

Stone Payton: [00:00:00] Welcome back to BRX Pro Tips. Lee Kantor and Stone Payton here with you. Lee, let’s talk about some practical ways to connect with people.

Lee Kantor: [00:00:11] Yeah. Connecting with people is one of our superpowers, that’s kind of the secret sauce behind what we do. We help our clients connect with the people who matter most to them. And I’d like to share some of those specific ways of doing that, that anybody can do, not only the Business RadioX kind of a platform in order to do this. But all you have to do is thank someone. You can do that. Anybody can do that. If you spend some of your day each day just thanking someone, appreciating them, that’s going to go a long way. You can share something that someone else is doing. If you learn something today, share it with your group, share it with an individual. You can appreciate someone’s effort. If someone did something or tried something, just let them know that you saw that, you heard that, and you appreciate them trying that.

Lee Kantor: [00:01:00] Another thing you can do is connect a former client with one of their prospects. If you can do that on a regular basis, you’re going to grow your business. You can share something you learned, whether it’s from a book or a blog, share it on social media, share it individually via email. Another thing that I like to do is I get a lot of books, I buy a lot of books, and we get a lot of books here in Business RadioX just kind of an outgrowth of what we normally do. Mail someone a book that you have lying around. If you think that this is going to be relevant to them, just mail it to them. Like, people don’t need kind of bookcases full of books anymore. If you do this every week, you’re going to see that your community is going to grow. People are going to appreciate you more and they’re going to hire you more.

BRX Pro Tip: What are you Avoiding?

Stone Payton: [00:00:00] Welcome back to Business RadioX Pro Tips. Lee Kantor and Stone Payton here with you. So often I think it’s really true that the answers are in the questions. And a key question to be asking ourselves, what are you avoiding?

Lee Kantor: [00:00:15] Yeah. As entrepreneurs, we’re bombarded with a lot of stimuli and a lot of things to do. And prioritizing those things to do are critical in order to succeed. But if you have a task that’s been on your to-do list or want-to-do list for a long time, you really got to look at that and ask yourself, what are you afraid of? Why haven’t you tried to fix this? Why haven’t you tried to launch this? What’s your fear? What are you afraid of? That it may not work? What if it worked better than you imagined? That you might be disappointed? What if it’s a success?

Lee Kantor: [00:00:54] This is not going to kind of determine whether you’re a success or you’re a failure. But the worst case scenario is, you try something and you learn it doesn’t work. And learning is always a good outcome. So, if you can reframe trying things into learning new things, it doesn’t matter what the outcome is. The worst case scenario is, it didn’t work and you’ve learned something not to do later on. The best case scenario is, it worked beyond your wildest dreams. So, it’s always worth trying and learning because that is going to move the ball. And if you slowly move the ball every single day, you’re going to have a good outcome at the end of the day and you will become successful

CX Tip: Offer Stability, Control and Certainty

Lee Kantor: [00:00:05] Lee Kantor here from Business RadioX. Jill, today’s customer experience tip is offer stability control and certainty. Please tell us more.

Jill Heineck: [00:00:15] You know, when things feel out of control, as humans, we crave stability and some control over what’s happening. How do we do this for our customers? We do this by assuring customers and clients that we have a plan to protect their interests and to keep them informed along the way, which, ultimately, keeps them feeling in control. Communication has always been one of the weakest spots for an organization, but it’s the greatest opportunity to create some stability and control for the client. So, creating that feeling of safety by being intentional in your messaging, and how often you want your client to receive those messages, and showing them that you have everything under control will do this. And also, demonstrating that you have systems and people in place to address every need and then some. And that’s your tip for the day.

Lee Kantor: [00:01:04] Great tip, Jill. Thanks for listening.
