BRX Pro Tip: Surround Yourself With Better People

Stone Payton: [00:00:00] Welcome back to Business RadioX Pro Tips. Lee Kantor and Stone Payton here with you, Lee, we really should, if we’re trying to improve ourselves, improve our results, we should be consistently seeking to surround ourselves with better people, yeah?

Lee Kantor: [00:00:19] Yeah, I think it’s Jim Rohn who said that you’re the average of the five people you hang around the most. And if that’s true, and I believe that’s true to a large extent, you’ve got to constantly be hanging out with better and better people. And better doesn’t have to mean more successful or wealthier, but they should be better, and that they’re making you better, and they’re kind of upping your game in the areas that you need help in.

Lee Kantor: [00:00:45] And the more special people you have around you, the better your chances of success will be. These people will be role models for your success, they’ll inspire you to be better, they’ll demonstrate the behaviors of success, and they’re going to hold you accountable to be better. And that’s what everybody needs. So, keep upgrading your peer group.

Lee Kantor: [00:01:05] And that means, periodically pruning people who are negative, who are energy depleters, who are takers. You’ve got to find more generous people, more supportive people, more cheerleaders, the people that are going to hold you to a higher standard, and then, you’re going to help hold them to a higher standard as well. So, keep working on this, and you’re going to see the results will come pretty quickly.

BRX Pro Tip: Success Story: Home Healthcare Client

Stone Payton: [00:00:00] And we are back with Business RadioX Pro Tips. Lee Kantor and Stone Payton here with you. Lee, for our Success Story Series, let’s talk about home health care.

Lee Kantor: [00:00:11] Yeah, this was an interesting story. This was one of our early clients. They came to us with the problem that a law had changed on how they can go to market in hospitals where they were getting most of their referrals. The law said they could no longer kind of walk the halls of the hospital in order to network with the nurses and the social workers that were there. So, they still needed to get those referrals from those folks, but they had to come up with a different way of doing that.

Lee Kantor: [00:00:41] So, what we came up with was to create a show that spotlighted and celebrated those same health care workers. And this enabled them to stay top of mind with them, and build and nurture those relationships, and continue on those relationships, so they’d still get those referrals. But instead of bringing them sandwiches, and lunch, and things like that on a regular basis, they were periodically inviting them to come on the show that we did to spotlight the work and service that they’re offering to the community.

Lee Kantor: [00:01:12] So, they were able to continue to nurture and build those relationships with the people who mattered most with them. And they did that show for – oh, it was probably five years or so. So, I consider that a pretty good success story. And it was one of those things where when the law changed, they had to change, and we gave them a vehicle to make that change, and seamlessly keep serving that ecosystem that was serving them.
