Art Rios is a trial lawyer by profession, a student of humanity by choice, and a friend to all by nature. A connoisseur of good old-fashioned gab, he advocates for the revival of genuine conversation as a way to connect with others, expand our minds, improve our world, and get more enjoyment and satisfaction from life. Art strongly believes that whether you’re 18 or 80, it’s never too late to make the most of your life.

Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Art currently resides in St. Petersburg, Florida. He has a BA in Business Administration from Eckerd College and earned his law degree from Stetson University. Art’s law practice is focused on litigating immigration law cases in federal courts. He is also a national speaker and author on immigration issues and teaches law at Stetson University. Art divides his time between his law practice and writing and speaking about Let’s Talk topics.

Above all, Art loves spending time (and happy hour) with his family—including his wife, Sharon, and two daughters, Maria and Alondra. Art admits that he’s a better talker than a writer, which is why he enjoys the webinars, gatherings, and retreats he offers to further discuss Let’s Talk topics. Steve L. Howard serves as the County Administrator and Spaceport Camden Project Lead.

As Project Lead, Steve guides Spaceport Camden’s vision of developing a world class spaceport through a public-private partnership that establishes Camden County as the Commercial Space Center of the United States. Due to its central location to several existing aerospace and high-tech centers, Spaceport Camden will serve as a hub for southeast Georgia. Spaceport Camden will create a space corridor from Florida to Georgia and up the East Coast of the United States.

Steve is a member of the Commercial Space Spaceflight Federation Board of Directors alongside industry leaders like Blue Origin, SpaceX, and Virgin Galactic. Additionally, Steve is a member of the Georgia Space Alliance Board of Directors.

In February 2016, Steve received the General James Oglethorpe Space Award for his significant contributions to the space program within Georgia.

In October 2017, Steve was invited to attend the first meeting of President Donald Trump’s National Space Council.

In December 2017, Steve was recognized as one of Georgia’s ten Transportation Technology Game Changers by the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) for his visionary leadership in making Spaceport Camden a reality.

In May 2019, Spaceport Camden was named a Top Infrastructure Project in the United States by global infrastructure strategy firm, CG/LA Infrastructure.

Stone Payton: [00:00:00] Welcome back to Business RadioX Pro Tips. Lee Kantor and Stone Payton here with you this afternoon. Lee, one of the things that we should be consistently keeping an eye on, we should be auditing our activities and our behavior, shouldn’t we?

Lee Kantor: [00:00:17] Absolutely. We’re being bombarded with different opportunities, and technology makes it easy to try things on and subscribe to something. And it’s one of those things that really can get out of hand pretty quickly if you’re not staying on top of it. So, I think it’s super important to really monitor the different activities and behaviors that you’ve got going on and decide whether they’re still working for you.

Lee Kantor: [00:00:41] So, I think if you can list them all, all these different things you subscribe to or activities you’re doing, and get them in a list; and that way, it makes it easier to check in to make sure that those activities are still serving you. But I think that even if you just kind of check your calendar out and decide, “Hey, should I be doing this still? Is this still a good meeting to be going to? Is this still a good association to be affiliating myself with? Is this still a good person to be affiliated myself with?”

Lee Kantor: [00:01:09] And if you periodically do that, maybe quarterly, then you’re going to decide if this is something that you should still be investing time and energy into, or it might be time to just say, ‘You know what? It was something that I needed to get here. But it’s not what I need to get there.” And if you need it, keep doing it. If you’re not sure, maybe give it another month or so. But if it’s something you’re on the fence about, you might really want to consider getting rid of it and moving on to something else, or just kind of making it disappear from your calendar and put more energy into other things.
