BRX Pro Tip: Don’t Listen to Feedback from These People

Stone Payton: [00:00:00] And we are back with Business RadioX Pro Tips. Lee Kantor and Stone Payton here with you. Lee, there’s all kinds of reasons to take an action, get the data, incorporate it into your plan, make your adjustments. And in the same breath, there’s just some people that we should not listen to their feedback. Yeah?

Lee Kantor: [00:00:20] Yeah, I agree. Everybody’s got an opinion about everything, and it’s important to really discern which opinions matter, and which are the opinions you should really take action around. For me, personally, if that person is not in the game battling, if they’re not kind of doing what you do, if they’re not in there kind of learning the hard lessons that life teaches you, I’m really not interested in their feedback. Their feedback is not that meaningful to me.

Lee Kantor: [00:00:53] I want constructive feedback from people who are putting themselves out there, not just these people who are in an ivory tower hypothesizing on how things should be in some perfect world. You know I’m a big believer in real data. And to me, real data comes from doing real work. It doesn’t come from whiteboarding out what could be or what should be. The real world is imperfect and people just act a little irrationally at times, and you’ve got to factor that in. And you can’t factor that in on a whiteboard, you’ve got to factor that in in real life with real experience, so you can get real knowledge, and then you can take real action.

BRX Pro Tip: Key Habits of Successful People

Stone Payton: [00:00:00] And we are back with BRX Pro Tips. Stone Payton and Lee Kantor here with you. Lee, let’s talk about some of the key habits of successful people.

Lee Kantor: [00:00:10] Yeah, I think in today’s day, some of the things, habits, or traits, or attributes of people who are successful, number one, I think, is the ability to sell. You really have to have a sales mindset, I think, to be successful in today’s world. And kind of tangential to that, I think is you have to kind of figure out how to be a creator. You don’t want to be the one that is the naysayer. You want to be the one that’s figuring out solutions and problem solving. So, you have to be able to create in some manner to be successful today.

Lee Kantor: [00:00:47] A third habit or trait is being optimistic and positive. I think optimism wins the day. I think it’s very difficult to be a pessimist or as pessimists like to call themselves, realists, and be successful, you have to be looking at the opportunities that are out there. You can’t be focusing on scarcity. You have to have an abundant mindset that there’s more out there, and that the more that you get, the more that you can give.

Lee Kantor: [00:01:18] And I think if you can kind of focus on those traits, then you will be successful over time. But you have to do the work every day. You can’t just think that, “Okay, I’ve done this, and I am this, and then I’m done.” You have to get a little better every day, and your efforts will compound over time, and then I believe you’ll win in the end. So, focus on sales, focus on creating focus, focus on optimism, and just try to get a little better every day. Let those efforts compound. And at the end of the day, I think you’re going to win.
