Charles Head, President/Chief Executive Officer of Center Parc Credit Union, began his career with Atlanta Postal Credit Union (APCU) as a loan officer in 1989.

He worked his way up to management, eventually becoming President/CEO of Atlanta Postal Credit Union in 2017.  Mr. Head was appointed to APCU’s Board of Directors in 2016 and continues to serve in that role.

Mr. Head demonstrates his commitment to the movement by serving as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors for the National Council of Postal Credit Unions, as an Advocacy Committee member for the League of Southeastern Credit Unions, and as a Board Member for Credit Union Loan Source – an entity established by credit unions to bring affordable financing to more consumers.

Mr. Head is a graduate of Troy State University in Alabama, where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Finance.

He and his wife Beverly, a retired schoolteacher, have resided in and around Atlanta throughout their entire lives. They currently live in Newnan, Georgia, and enjoy spending time with their two children and three grandchildren.

During her PhD, she discovered that eye gaze can be used to determine engagement levels while learning. In addition to engagement, the human eye holds rich data about the mental state of a human being.

Dr. Brown later joined Emory University in 2016 to analyze eye tracking as a biomarker for early onset Alzheimer’s Disease.

Dr. Brown completed her BS in Electronics Engineering at Norfolk State University in 2010 and MS and PhD in Electrical Engineering at Georgia Tech in 2012 and 2015, respectively. Dr. Brown received her MBA with concentrations in Entrepreneurship and Technical Product Management at Georgia Tech in 2020.

Lee, I think it’s important – and I know you do as well – that we periodically examine our touch points with our prospects, and our clients and even our own people. And we strive to remove the friction. Don’t you agree?

Lee Kantor: [00:00:19] Absolutely. It’s important to go through what a relationship looks like with your client. And then, just look at all of the different points where you interact with the client, and what you’re expecting the client to do, and what you’re expecting yourself to do. And go back and remove anything that can be a hassle or a headache for the client to do. If you can remove all of the hassles, and all the headaches, and all the friction you’re asking them to do, and give them more of what they like to do, and they want to do, and they getting the outcome they desire, and then they are doing less of the things they don’t like to do, you’re going to have a very happy client, one that’s not going to go anywhere. And hopefully, you’ll have that client for life.

Medicare Open Enrollment begins October 15th, and people with Medicare have until December 7th to make changes to their health plans or prescription drug plans or select a new plan for 2021.

Seema Verma, Administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services

As the Administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, Seema Verma oversees a $1 trillion budget, representing 26% of the total federal budget, and administers health coverage programs for more than 130 million Americans. She was nominated by President Trump on November 29, 2016 – the seventh nomination by the President-elect – and confirmed by the U.S. Senate on March 13, 2017. 

This year, the Administrator has set a bold agenda to empower patients and transform the healthcare system to deliver better value and results for patients through competition and innovation. CMS will focus all of its efforts on 16 strategic initiatives across Medicare, Medicaid, and the Exchanges to move the healthcare delivery system toward value. 

During her tenure, Administrator Verma’s strong leadership at CMS has led to many major accomplishments. The agency has: 

Stabilized the individual health insurance market, where average premiums decreased in 2019 for the first time ever on federally facilitated exchanges, and Medicare Advantage premiums continue to decline, 

Restored the state and federal partnership for Medicaid with the approval of community engagement demonstrations to promote work and financial independence
 

Introduced the first-ever Medicaid & CHIP Scorecard to provide much-needed transparency on how well Medicaid is serving its beneficiaries 

Acted across all programs to lower the cost of prescription drugs, including by bolstering the ability of Medicare Advantage & Part D plans to negotiate lower drug costs for patients

Transformed the meaningful use program to focus on interoperability 

Created novel access to virtual check-ins for Medicare beneficiaries and expanded support for telehealth and remote patient monitoring 

Updated documentation guidelines and reduced 53 million hours of the administrative burden through the “Patients over Paperwork” and “Meaningful Measures” initiatives 

Launched the Blue Button 2.0 API, through which more than 1,700 mobile app developers have signed up to provide beneficiaries with access to their claims data and help them achieve better health 

Advanced bundled payment models to motivate healthcare providers to furnish services more efficiently, coordinate care, and improve quality and 

 Published guidelines requiring hospitals to post their standard pricing information online in a machine-readable format, updating it at least once a year—a first step toward giving patients the information they need to make the best decisions for themselves and their families. 

Administrator Verma is a graduate of the University of Maryland and holds a Master’s degree in Public Health with a concentration in health policy and management from Johns Hopkins University.  

Her editorial commentaries have appeared in the Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Washington Times, and Health Affairs, and she also previously served as Vice President of Planning for the Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County, Indiana. Most recently before heading CMS, she was President and CEO of SVC, Inc.

Lee Kantor: [00:00:11] Sure. I’m a big believer in everybody does what they do and let other people do what they do. So, in order to do that, you have to focus in on your strengths, be the best you can be, and work on that as much as possible, and then let your team do the rest of the stuff. Everybody has to hold each other accountable. I’m not saying to abdicate responsibility, but it’s important to delegate and let everybody else do their role in the organization. And you have to check in. You got to make sure everybody is progressing towards the goal, but you don’t have to do everything yourself. Trust your teammates. You picked them for a reason, trust they’re going to do the right thing.

Linda John is the CEO and founder of Linda John Consulting, LLC, providing Executive Coaching and Destination Consulting services to clients throughout the USA.  From 1993 – 2020, Linda served as the Executive Director for Visit Eau Claire in west-central Wisconsin.  Some of Linda’s top accomplishments at Visit Eau Claire included the development of a successful regional tourism program, the creation of a sports commission for the Eau Claire area, and launching two successful mobile visitor center programs, all resulting in record-setting tourism growth for the region during her tenure.

Linda now owns and operates her professional consulting practice, ​Linda John Consulting,​ through which she offers a variety of professional training and human resource development services, including team development and organizational rebuilding initiatives.  

Linda is a Certified Destination Marketing Executive (CDME) and an accredited practitioner of the Integrative Enneagram for both individuals and teams. She holds memberships with Destinations International and the International Coach Federation (ICF).   Linda holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration from Minnesota State University in Mankato and a Master’s of Science degree in Training and Human Resource Development from UW Stout.
