DELIVERING SEAMLESS CLIENT EXPERIENCES IN A CHANGING LANDSCAPE

Holly O’Neill, Chief Client Care Executive

As we look forward to National Customer Service Week, it is important to understand how clients and companies are both redefining the client experience. My guest for this show is Holly O’Neill, Chief Client Care Executive, Bank of America,

Right now, as client expectations continue to shift and face-to-face interactions are limited, it’s essential for businesses to find new ways to create positive experiences. Companies have had to pivot quickly or improve upon their existing client care models to create more meaningful and personalized experiences in order to meet clients’ changing needs. This has meant anticipating changing client needs, delivering a consistent client experience across all channels, and continuing to offer a balance of digital tools and in-person services.

  • Adapt your company’s client care approach during moments of need, moving quickly and effectively
  • Create personalized solutions for each client need
  •  Incorporate digital solutions into your company’s client care strategy
  • Utilize multiple streams of feedback to listen to clients and adjust the client care strategy
Identify and determine what clients should expect from their financial institution during this time and beyond

ABOUT HOLLY O’NEILL

Holly O’Neill is the Chief Client Care Executive and leads Consumer, Small Business & Wealth Management Client Care at Bank of America.

Her team provides financial solutions to more than 66 million clients each year, with a focus on delivering exceptional and distinctive client care with each interaction.

ATDC Radio: Take Five – The Blackjack Edition

October 1, 2020 by angishields

About Your Host

Jane McCracken returns to ATDC as a Startup Catalyst, having started her career here many years ago. She then moved into venture capital and investment banking both in the United States and Europe before joining an early-stage, medical diagnostics company as chief financial officer.  During her time there, she raised $60 million and completed eight international acquisitions. The company was listed on both the London and Oslo stock exchanges.

Jane then worked with two venture-backed companies.  She joined the founders of an online travel company as CEO, and took it from startup to the world’s second-largest hotel booking site before Travelocity acquired it. At the request of her venture investors, Jane then joined a computer games developer as CEO and turned around the faltering enterprise before it was sold to a NASDAQ-listed games company.

Most recently, Jane was CEO of an oncology-focused clinical research company, which grew from startup to a multinational firm with $15 million in annual revenue and offices across Europe and the United States.  The company was financed through its own cash flow and was sold in early 2012 to a larger clinical research organization.

Jane continues to work with fast growing companies — in interim and full-time positions — as a consultant, board member, and angel investor. In addition, Jane has served on boards for public and private companies, as well as government-related and non-profit organizations. She is a frequent speaker and panelist at conferences, companies, and universities and is an active volunteer in her community. Jane obtained her bachelor’s degree from Wake Forest University and her master’s degree at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

BRX Pro Tip: How to Onboard a Remote Team Member

Stone Payton: [00:00:00] Welcome back to BRX Pro Tips. Stone Payton and Lee Kantor here with you this afternoon. Lee, let’s talk a little bit about strategies and tactics for onboarding a remote team member.

Lee Kantor: [00:00:12] Right. In today’s world, a lot of your team members are going to be remote. And it’s important to have some plan of attack to make sure that they can get on boarded and start being productive as quickly as possible. Here are some things that you can be doing to make sure that that goes smoothly. Number one, make sure that they have what they need before day one. So, on day zero, they should have whatever password software access they need, whatever equipment they need.

Lee Kantor: [00:00:44] Early on, there has to be a video call to answer any questions and manage expectations. Because if you don’t have clear expectations, there’s no way they can possibly deliver on what you desire. And during that video call, you should be covering what educational resources are available, what help resources are available, what’s the true north of the company, what’s our mission. How do we communicate our mission? Is there mentors available? Who are the people that are going to be their allies that they can go to, to call if they have a problem or a question? That all has to be clear and that should be in their hands before they start.

Lee Kantor: [00:01:29] And then, make sure that all kinds of contact information is available for them, so they can get a hold of whoever they have to get a hold of in whatever form, whether it’s phone number, email, slack channel, however you’re communicating. Make sure they have all of that available to them so that there’s no, “Well, I’d call them but I don’t know their number.” Like, you want to avoid any of those kind of hiccups. There’s no need for it today.

Lee Kantor: [00:01:55] And then, schedule regular follow ups, whether they’re daily, at first, to weekly, to monthly, to quarterly, whatever they are. Have a regular rhythm, I would say, daily at the beginning and have follow up and check ins to make sure they’re progressing and they’re getting stuff done. So, that way, they can have a running start rather than just them waiting on stuff. You don’t want them to be waiting on anything. And you don’t want to have miscommunications. And you want to show that they’re part of a team and they’re a valued team member at the beginning.
