Cannon-Carr-HeadshotCannon Carr is CornerCap Investment Counsel’s Chief Investment Officer. He leads the firm’s investment committee and oversees the firm’s investment strategies and process, stock and asset class research, and portfolio management. He also co-manages the three CornerCap mutual funds (Small Cap Value, Large Cap Value, and Balanced).

He joined CornerCap in June 2007, after being a client for over seven years. Prior to joining CornerCap, Cannon was a senior equity analyst at CIBC World Markets (formerly Oppenheimer), covering IT business services (2006-07), wireless services (2001-05), and emerging telecom (1998-05).

Cannon has provided commentary on CNBC, CNN, Lou Dobbs MoneyLine, and Bloomberg News. He has also been quoted in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, and Fortune, among other publications. He was rated a five-star analyst by Zachs Research in 2006. Cannon has an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BA from Princeton University in Political Economy.

Public service is important to Cannon. He heads the investment committee for the Wesleyan College endowment, serves on the Advisory Board for the Center for Ethics at Emory University, is a Board member with the Technical College System of Georgia Foundation, is an officer at the Atlanta Rotary Club, and serves as Chair of the Georgia Tennis Foundation, among other nonprofit endeavors.

MattMarshallMatt Marshall joined Flexport in San Francisco in 2017 and is currently a Senior Director and General Manager for the Southeast Region based in the Atlanta office, which opened in June 2017 and has since grown to more than 100 employees. Atlanta has become a critical area for Flexport to service many enterprise-level clients, such as Georgia Pacific.

Prior to joining Flexport, Matt worked for Deloitte Consulting’s Strategy & Operations practice in New York where he advised Enterprise clients on supply chain strategy, network optimization, procurement, and logistics. Matt has a BS in Economics from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and an MBA in Strategy & Finance from Penn State University.

Ben HarrisBen Harris is Director of Supply Chain Ecosystem Expansion for the Metro Atlanta Chamber. Ben comes to the Metro Atlanta Chamber after serving as Senior Manager, Market Development for Manhattan Associates. There, Ben was responsible for developing Manhattan’s sales pipeline and overall Americas supply chain marketing strategy.

Ben oversaw market positioning, messaging and campaign execution to build awareness and drive new pipeline growth. SeanheadshotSean Willems is the Haslam Chair in Supply Chain Analytics at the University of Tennessee (Knoxville). He has been a visiting professor of operations management at the MIT Sloan School of Management since 2016. His work has led to finalist selections for the 2003, 2010, and 2017 Franz Edelman Award for Achievement in Operations Research and the Management Sciences. Sean has been a finalist in 2006, 2008 and 2012 for the Daniel H. Wagner Prize for Excellence in Operations Research Practice. His work on inventory placement under non-stationary demand won the Wagner Prize in 2008.

Willems is the department editor of the practice section of the journal Production and Operations Management and he is the deputy editor of Interfaces. He received his bachelor’s degree in decision sciences from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and his master’s in operations research and doctorate in operations management from the MIT Sloan School of Management. Dr-Ruth-GotianDr. Ruth Gotian is the inaugural Assistant Dean of Mentoring and Executive Director of the newly launched Mentoring Academy at Weill Cornell Medicine. In addition, she is the Chief Learning Officer in Anesthesiology and Assistant Professor of Education in Anesthesiology. She has taken on these new roles after nearly 22 years (and two perfect scores on NIH training grants) of running the Tri-Institutional MD-PhD Program, a partnership between Weill Cornell, Rockefeller University and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Dr. Gotian is an alumna of Teachers College Columbia University where she studied Adult Learning and Leadership. She pursued her doctorate while working full time and raising her family. She received her B.S. and M.S. in Business Management from the University at Stony Brook in New York as well as certificates in Executive Leadership and Managing for Execution from Cornell University. She publishes in both medical education and adult learning journals on topics ranging from diversity and inclusion in academic medicine to virtual mentoring. She is currently co-editing a book on medical education titled Development and Impact of Training Programs and Systems in Medical Education.

As one of the few people in the country who studies adult learning within academic medicine, Dr. Gotian has given many talks at such places as the NIH, AAMC and UNCF. Dr. Gotian’s research explores how successful people learn.
