BRX Pro Tip: Ask for the Business More Often Transcript

Stone Payton: [00:00:00] Welcome back to BRX Pro Tips. Stone Payton, Lee Kantor here with you. One of the disciplines that we try to underscore or reinforce for ourselves and everyone we’re working with, Lee, is ask for the business, ask for the business more often. The stone version of that is, you know, at some point, man, you’ve got to bite him in the neck. What’s your take on this whole discipline of asking for the business and asking for the business more often?

Lee Kantor: [00:00:25] Yeah, this is a very important component of growing your business and you really help me in this area a lot. When I started this business, everything was built upon creating enough breadcrumbs that the person would ask me, “Hey, how do I get some of that?” And you really helped me kind of be mindful and be more proactive at making sure that we’re letting people know that we have stuff they can sponsor, that their shows that they should have and it’s important for us to let them know that this exists and that they can buy from us. And a lot of times, people don’t want to go through that risk of rejection, that they are having a great time doing the show and they want to be elegant.

Lee Kantor: [00:01:05] And it’s important to be elegant, but it’s also important to ask for the business. So, you got to really kind of create a balance that works for you. And you cannot assume that people in your market know that you need more sponsors. You cannot assume if you’re sponsoring a show that your guest knows that you have a service that they can buy from you. You have to build in a call to action in your emails and your conversations. You have to let them know that you are a resource to help them achieve the outcome that they desire. So, do not be afraid to ask for the business more often.

Flash forward to October 2019, after 2 years of being cancer-free, I am now battling Stage 4 melanoma with lesions on my brain, lung, spleen and pelvic wall.  Currently, I’ve survived a double craniotomy, seizure and dual immunotherapy with side effects. It is my goal to promote sun safety, skin cancer, skin prevention and awareness with our amazing Certified UPF50+ UV apparel and accessories backed by the Melanoma International Foundation.
