In 2011, entrepreneur and mother of three Ghazal Qureshi became interested in an after-school program that would provide an intellectually stimulating, hands-on educational experience for children—so she created IDEA Lab Kids.

The Houston-based company offers more than 50 uniquely integrated science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) courses designed to inspire and engage children from ages 4 to 14. Since the concept began franchising in February 2017, a total of 87 campuses have been awarded to more than 24 franchisees with over 20 new franchises set to open by 2020. The brand now has plans to grow internationally as well as to award up to 700 domestic locations within the next four years.

Husband-and-wife team, Toqeer and Haydne Chouhan, opened Georgia’s first IDEA Lab Kids in Smyrna on November 2nd, 2019. The couple signed on to open 8 Georgia locations over the next 5 years and hope to expand to the cities of Marietta, Roswell or Decatur in the future.

The Mableton locals both graduated from Berry College. Haydne has worked as an interior designer and Toqeer practices law. After having their first child, the two discussed finally realizing their dream of business ownership and were introduced to IDEA Lab Kids by a family member. They were impressed by the STEAM-based education franchise and decided to become business owners with IDEA Lab Kids and brought the first location to the state of Georgia.

After earning degrees in business administration and taxation, and her CPA license, Jennifer Henn, Co-Founder, and Executive Director of COR, Inc., had a successful career working in the tax departments of Ernst & Young, First Data, and The Coca-Cola Company. She left the corporate world to stay home with her three children, and for 12 years enjoyed being actively involved in their schools and activities.

Volunteering with a non-profit organization focused on sex-trafficking led Jennifer to join that organization as its CFO. She learned about the inner workings of a non-profit and gained experience in development, board governance, and fundraising. It was there that she saw the resilience of kids when given opportunities, resources, and unconditional love.

Seeing the disparity between the opportunities her children have had, and those children living in underserved and marginalized communities fueled Jennifer’s passion to find a way to bridge that gap. Meeting Jennifer Bartl and Jennifer Greenlee and learning of their passion for the same thing prompted them to start COR. They each have a different set of skills that, when combined, create a formidable team.

Jennifer loves spending time with her family (husband and three kids) and three dogs, watching her kids play sports, traveling, reading, hanging out by the pool, and a good glass (or two) of red wine. Having grown up on St. Croix in the US Virgin Islands, her favorite place to be is by the ocean. She gets silly excited when she makes connections, especially with and among women looking to make a difference.

Jennifer Bartl, Co-Founder, and COO of COR, Inc., received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from The University of Wisconsin and her Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Syracuse University. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who is adept at best practice program development.

She has worked in the field of Behavioral Health & Addiction for over 20 years, choosing to lend her passion and talent to school-aged youth. She has been instrumental in the development of a school-based mental health clinic, securing funding to start after school programming for children, and substance abuse prevention/education programming for at-risk adolescents. She has partnered with over 25 community stakeholders to establish a local collaborative system of care in Atlanta that serves to increase access to health services and community resources and to decrease healthcare disparities. Jennifer has been recognized for her work in raising awareness of intimate partner/teen dating violence; she is well versed in the areas of trauma, play therapy, marriage and family therapy, addiction and specifically, social justice issues including those that impact women, persons of color and other marginalized groups.

Jennifer is a champion for children of all ages and a dedicated advocate for vulnerable populations including victims of sexual exploitation and trauma. She is a statewide trainer for Darkness to Light and presents Stewards of Children training around metropolitan Atlanta to raise awareness of and teach adults how to recognize and prevent child sexual abuse. Jennifer is also a facilitator of Love146 Not a #Number curriculum. Not a #Number is an interactive, five-module prevention curriculum designed to teach youth how to protect themselves from human trafficking and exploitation through information, critical thinking, and skill development.

I was born and raised here in Tucson, Arizona. I grew up in my parent’s home alongside my 4 siblings. I have 3 older sisters and 1 older brother making me the baby of the family. I have been married 9 years now to my husband David and we have 2 kids of our own, Zakariah and Lexi.  We have 3 dogs, 1 cat, lots of fish and my son has a lizard and a mouse. As you can tell we have a love for animals. I love music, being outdoors and spending time with my family every chance I get. We love taking family cruises and exploring the mountains around the town.  

 I have now worked for my Dad’s business ProLam Plus, on and off for the last 15 years. After working for a few different companies in other fields (some I loved others not so much) I came back permanently in 2016 to help run the business. As Production Manager, I eventually plan to take over the family business when my Dad retires. My Dad Bob Smith founded ProLam in 1996 after perfecting his skills in the same industry for 5 years prior. I myself have always had an eye for creativity so I have enjoyed working here and I am proud to be able to take over the business and to continue to serve Tucson and the greater part of Arizona with our dedication to excellence and quality in Mounting, Laminating and Custom Picture Framing services.

She has 12 years of experience in the healthcare industry. Upon graduating from Greene-Taliaferro Comprehensive High School in Greensboro, Georgia in 2000 as Valedictorian, Dr. Champion attended Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville, Georgia where she graduated Cum Laude and obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Education with a Concentration in Exercise Science in 2004. She was also initiated into Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc in which she remains an active member in the Upsilon Alpha Omega Chapter in Gwinnett County, Georgia. Dr. Champion has served on various committees to include the Cancer Committee, Oncology Continuous Quality Improvement Team, Unit Practice Council, and the Palliative Care Team. She has also served as a host committee member for an Atlanta signature fundraiser, Jeffrey Fashion Cares, which supports Susan G. Komen Atlanta and the Atlanta AIDS Fund. In her career, she has received accolades to include the Innovators Award for Quality/Patient Safety, a Clinical Excellence Award, and was nominated for the American Health Council Best In Patient Care Award. She is also an American Physical Therapy Association Credentialed Clinical Instructor in which she facilitates clinical experiences for students in Doctor of Physical Therapy programs.

Dr. Champion has a special interest in oncology rehabilitation and was instrumental in developing the oncology rehabilitation program as well as the outpatient lymphedema treatment program for a major hospital system in Atlanta, Georgia. She obtained her certification as a Lymphedema Therapist from the Academy of Lymphatic Studies and most recently became certified in Advanced Lymphedema Management. She is also certified in Dry Needling through the Spinal Manipulation Institute. She has lectured to breast surgery fellows at Winship Cancer Institute of Emory and participates in various community events to spread awareness about cancer survivorship.

Dr. Champion has had family and friends that have been affected by cancer and have endured horrible side-effects, leading to decline in physical functioning and a poor quality of life. Her passion for providing quality care for patients who require cancer rehabilitation and lymphedema therapy led her to start her own practice, Eminence Physical Therapy, LLC. Also, in her experience as a healthcare practitioner, she saw the need to serve cancer patients on a larger scale and encourage patients take a more holistic approach to restoring their psychological well-being, physical functioning, and quality of life as often the physical, psychological, spiritual, and emotional impairments resulting from cancer treatment are often not addressed or are improperly addressed.

This led her to establish Champions Can! Foundation for Cancer Wellness, Inc., a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization that promotes and advocates for cancer survivorship. She is also a published author of the book “The Elements of Cancer Survivorship: A Guide to Navigating the Journey” which is available on Amazon and aims to guide individuals and their families through their cancer journey. Dr. Champion has gained more awareness surrounding the gaps in education regarding lymphedema treatment, cancer rehabilitation, as well as the limited focus on cancer survivorship once cancer treatment has been completed. Her company strives to be the leader in providing high quality care for lymphedema treatment as well as for cancer rehabilitation.
