Bradley J. Lloyd is a second-generation owner/operator for Lloyd Construction Company, Inc.  Raised in the industry, Brad learned the construction business from his dad at an early age. Throughout his upbringing, Brad would accompany his father to the job site and listen and learn as his father explained what was happening in each stage of construction.  When he was old enough, Brad joined the work crews out in the field and learned a variety of trades, also acquiring his accreditation with the American Concrete Institute Masters Training. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Western New Mexico University, and then returned to Lloyd Construction to continue his career.  Eventually, Brad made his way into the office and has served as lead estimator, project engineer, and project manager. In 2004, Brad became Vice President of Lloyd Construction, alongside his brother Bill, who is President.

Together, they carry on the family tradition of delivering award-winning, high-quality, and value-driven projects to the Arizona market.  Brad enjoys nothing more than doing good for the local community and has served on a number of Boards, including the Tucson Boys Chorus, Southern Arizona ABA, Arizona Construction Trades, the Arizona Cancer Center, 14 years as a Board Member and coach for Tucson Youth Athletics, a member of the CAPLA and Lloyd Scholarship Committee, and an active member and contributor to the Arizona 4-H Youth Development Program.

A great part of their success today – and what makes Lloyd stand out from the crowd – is the personal attention, consideration, and passion that Brad lends to every project.

BRX Pro Tip: How Long Should a Show Be? Transcript

Stone Payton: [00:00:01] Welcome back to BRX Pro Tips. Lee Kantor and Stone Payton here with you. Lee, we do a lot of shows out of the studio. We do a lot of shows in several states now across a lot of studios. How long should a show? And what I really mean by that is an episode. How long should an episode be?

Lee Kantor: [00:00:17] As long as it takes, that’s how long it should be. I am not a believer of shorter is better. I think it should be as long as it has to be. In our studio, we allow 90 minutes for an episode. Our recommendation to most people is the show should be between 30 and 60 minutes. And given, at least, 30 minutes of time to kind of breathe after the show’s over, and hang out, and let the magic happen of the interacting and the energy of the room kind of come to fruition. But I think that a show can go at any length of time. And I don’t think you should rush it. I think that people’s attention span is as long as something is compelling and interesting.

Lee Kantor: [00:01:00] So, if you feel like your conversation within your interviews are getting kind of circular, and you’re rehashing things that you talked about before, then it’s probably a good idea to end it. But I don’t think that you have to end the show at any specific time just because the show — there’s no time limit. That’s the beauty of this long-form medium that you don’t have to have a time limit. It can be as long as it has to be. But it’s much better to end it sooner, and leave them wanting more, and wanting them to come back on than it is to wring out every drop of it, and the guest feeling like they never have to come on again because, again, the purpose of doing these shows is to build a relationship, accelerate relationships, and you want them to want to come back on. You want them to refer guests. You want them to enjoy the experience and play longer
