Nickell Rental

Josh Nickell / Nickell Rental
Owner

Initially, Josh wanted to pursue a career in the restaurant business, or as a traveling magician. Even though he was around the rental industry his whole life, Josh had no plans to join his dad – who founded Nickell Rental in 1998. One eye-opening internship later, the course of his decisions changed.  In 1998, Josh started out washing equipment. Later, he climbed the managerial track after graduating Summa Cum Laude in Management from Drexel University. Now he serves as the President of the American Rental Association of Georgia, and has been published numerous times in Rental Management Magazine – including being listed as one of the Top 10 to Watch Under 40. In 2014, the ARA named Josh Person of the Year. In his spare time, Josh volunteers as the PE coach at Carolyn Barron Montessori School.

Tom Nickell / Nickell Rental
Founder / Owner

Tom Nickell was high school Valedictorian and a die-hard Kentucky Wildcats fan, which put him on the path to a Pre-Med degree from UK. Tom went on to dental school, but changed course two months before graduating and went to work in the rental business with his father-in-law. Tom didn’t intend to stay in this industry; it was just a stop on his journey to find a career that he could be truly passionate about. To Tom’s surprise, that career wound up being the rental business, where he could tie his passion for helping people with his love for family. Tom founded Nickell Rental in 1998, building it from the ground up. He has been in the industry nearly 40 years now and has served at both the local and national level on boards for numerous organizations, including The American Rental Association.

Greg Lipman

Greg Lipman / Piastra
Chef and Owner

Originally from Boston, Chef Greg learned about food at a young age when he first learned the phrase, “Food is love”. His first culinary steps were what captured his passion when Grandmother Rose showed him how to make chocolate chip cookies, and he states that he is still perfecting the recipe. After training at New England Culinary Institute in Montpelier, Vermont, he worked in different restaurants in the Boston area.

Around age thirty, he trained with a classically trained French chef on a small yacht while sailing over a third of the way around the world. Does My Practice Still Need To Prepare For MACRA?

Lawmakers changed the way Medicare physicians and other health care professionals are paid
when they passed the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA) in 2015.
MACRA resulted in the Medicare Quality Payment Program (QPP), which is designed to move
physicians from a fee-for- service program to a value-based payment system.

The actions that physicians take in 2017 will determine what they get paid in 2019. The Centers for Medicare, Medicaid Services’ goal is to tie 90 percent of all Medicare fee-for- service payments to quality or value by the end of 2018. The QPP replaced the Medicare SGR, and it is a zero-sum gain
program – which means that there will be winners and losers. Physicians could see their pay
increase or decrease by as much as four percent in 2019, depending on what they do in 2017.

The QPP established two paths for physicians to take, including the Merit-based Incentive
Payment Program (MIPS), which is a modified fee-for- service system, and Advanced Alternative Payment Models (APMs), which is a track for physicians who are already participating in one of the eligible advanced alternative payment models. It is crucial for physicians to figure out how to fulfill their QPP reporting requirements to avoid any cuts in pay in 2019 – as well as determining whether they will go above and beyond the minimum requirements to position themselves for a pay increase in 2019.

Finally, it is highly unlikely that MACRA/MIPS will be revised or repealed in the foreseeable
future.

Prior to entering the real estate profession, my focused on marketing implementation and fulfillment. I have also engineered processes to enhance customer satisfaction for various businesses in the financial services and utility industries. I’m active in many business associations throughout the Greater Atlanta area and considers myself a professional networker. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, I also lived in the St. Augustine, FL area for 20 years before relocating to Atlanta in 2006 and deciding that I’d finally found my way home.”
