Michelle Savard – Wilmington Brewing Company

Wilmington Brewing Company and Wilmington Homebrew Supply is owned and operated by John and Michelle Savard.  We are Wilmington natives that have fallen in love with the craft beer and wine culture. We both went to the University of North Carolina Asheville. The unexpected education that came from living in Asheville was the knowledge gained by being surrounded by professional breweries and home breweries. Quickly, we began to brew beer and wine for ourselves. Living in Asheville which has been awarded, “Beer City USA” grew our passion for homebrewing and teaching homebrewing to all our friends and family. We took a trip to Europe touring many different breweries in 7 different countries. One of our favorite experiences was touring the Cantilion brewery in Belgium and meeting the head brewer. We also took a private tour in a German regional brewery named Farny. At this time, John thought he wanted to be a professional brewer. He started working at a packaging brewery in Asheville, but quickly figured out he wanted to brew more varieties than a professional was capable. While working at the brewery, he had an opportunity arise that led to a great opportunity for both John and Michelle.  John was offered a job at the local homebrew supply store which is one of the best homebrew supply stores on the east coast. He was working and learning about the industry as fast as he could. He gained a great deal of knowledge about homebrewing and what was important in order to succeed as a homebrewing shop.

Rick Richards – CEO Elderhaus Pace, Inc.

Rick Richards was named the new CEO of Elderhaus PACE Wilmington NC.  Richards has more than 20 years of experience with community based health care administration and development experience, and most recently helped to establish a start-up phase of a Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) in Gastonia.

Elderhaus Inc. offers both adult day care and the PACE Program to help seniors 55+ stay independent in their homes.  In families with aging seniors, eventually questions begin to arise about their physical well being, their living conditions and their quality of life. As those conversations begin, Elderhaus has always been an alternative offering adult day care services.  Elderhaus‘ PACE Program provides an alternative to nursing home care for those 55 years of age and older.  It supports independent living while at the same time promoting community and quality of life by providing medical care, adult day care, on-going rehabilitative therapies, in-home care services, transportation and counseling.

Josh Harcus and Sara Harcus  Co-Owners of Huify

We love inbound marketing  because we’ve seen the results it provides for us and for our clients. Lead conversion rates are significantly higher than industry averages when a company serves as a resource and not a soapbox.  Founded in 2012, we are a gallant group of skilled individuals who are passionate about what we do. Our team has an abundance of variety, with backgrounds in marketing, writing, and graphic design. Our office is located in coastal Wilmington, NC. When not hard at work you’ll find Hüify members lurking in the nearby coffee shop, lounging in the company hammock, or conquering video games in the conference room. Josh serves as the Head of Inbound Strategy at Hüify. His experience has helped him steer Hüify in the direction of online marketing. Long gone are the fluffy vanity metrics as a means for indicating success – Josh has turned the company’s focus to genuine, measurable, and attainable outcomes that help take Hüify’s clients beyond the stagnating threshold of mediocrity and into new levels of reach for their brand. Josh began to capitalize on his talent for performing at a young age with the start of his first company, Magik Productions. After growing his company and professionally busking for 12 years, Josh added DJ’ing to his business arsenal, which he used to pull off the largest student-led event in UNCW history. Over 2,500 students attended the event, which was organized completely through Facebook. The success of this event testified to the growing magnitude of social media’s effect on human interaction. Josh has consulted brands such as Car and Driver, Springer Global Publishing, and Compact Power Equipment Rental. He has also spoken at conferences alongside Google, Facebook, Bing, and Hubspot. Sara Harcus graduated from UNCW with a B.S. in Chemistry in December 2012. On that same day she married her husband and best friend, Josh Harcus. She now owns and operates Hüify with Josh as the Head of Content Development. The analytical training she received at the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at UNCW has helped contribute to Hüify’s overall mission of decreasing the cost of acquiring new customers for their clients.    Connect with Huify’s team at:  LinkedIn   Facebook

Joyce Edwards – Coastline Mixed Mediums, Senior Advisory Board

A native of Southeastern North Carolina, born into military life at Camp Lejeune, I was

predestined to trek across the US throughout childhood & my adult career. I bring a 20+ year

extensive background in corporate sales & marketing.

In the spring of 2004, I sought out the roots of my childhood with a strong desire to give back for

all I’d been blessed with. Pine needles in the sand, the rhythm of the sea… and I feel right at

home! Throughout my career, I picked up a love of photography & writing. Currently I’m working

on several children’s books, (stories & illustrations)… my day job? Contract Sales & Marketing,

which offers an opportunity to meet new people along the way, & enjoy the creative side of life.

I own a Wilmington, NC based contract marketing service business; CoastLine Mixed Mediums. I

assist companies who do not have a marketing department, yet want to have a solid brand

presence in the community. Over the past few years I have worked with folks like the Elder Law

Firm of Andrew Olsen, family owned Cape Fear Pharmacy & Compounding Center (formerly

Medicap Pharmacy), local franchise of Senior Helpers and am in the process of helping to launch

the 2014 CarefinderZ Guide, designed as a child and elder care referral service resource. In

2013, I produced the Saturday morning radio show; “Are we there yet?” with Todd & Helayne on

Port City Radio.

I recently joined the Marketing Team at the Hampton Inn-Medical Park. I am thrilled to be on

board. This is a locally owned and operated facility that lives up to the term “giving back to the community” in every way… from Ownership to “Team Hampton,” which participates in numerous

non-profit events throughout the year.

I am a member of the Elder Abuse Prevention Network, Co-coordinator of the Wilmington Wine &

Chocolate Festival (Annual Fundraiser for NHC Senior Centers), ALZ-WALK Committee, Co-

Chair for Senior Advisory Services, and a member of NHC & Brunswick County Healthcare

Marketers.
