Jane Roberts – Carolina Move Managers and Senior Home Transitions
Jane grew up in the Lowcountry of South Carolina, in the midst of a large and gregarious extended family. As a child, her favorite aspect of regular family gatherings was sitting near enough to the “grown ups’ table” to hear all the tales of their many and varied life experiences. It still is.
After graduating with honors from the University of South Carolina, Jane worked in small business administration and corporate finance for two decades. Since moving to Wilmington, NC in 2000, Jane has served faithfully through various ministries and leadership roles at St. James Episcopal Church. Wanting to find a way to help others in a more personal way, she eventually became a trained Stephen Minister and then a Stephen Leader through her church, where she often witnessed elders in a variety of crises with no appropriate assistance available to them.
Recognizing the need of our elders for emotional, physical, and practical assistance through late-in-life residential transitions, Jane undertook comprehensive industry-specific training as a Senior Move Manager in 2008. Jane is the owner and hands-on chief operator of Carolina Move Managers, offering invaluable guidance through the multi-layered processes of moving later in life. Since its inception, Carolina Move Managers (originally founded as Senior Home Transition Services) has indeed become the Cape Fear region’s premier senior move management company. Jane remains active in the National Association of Senior Move Managers as well, giving her a network of professional support and guidance from more than 700 members/colleagues worldwide.
Jane has been married for more than thirty years, with two grown children who are independently forging their own life journeys. Her parents still live in South Carolina, although not in their family home.
