Exclusive Triumph Gulf Coast-BP Oil Spill Funds, Tech and Entrepreneurial Movement

Frank White
Representative Frank White (Skyped In)

Frank White was elected to the Florida House of Representatives in November 2016 to represent District 2 (Pensacola and Gulf Breeze). Frank is also the CFO/General Counsel for the Sansing Dealer Group, a group of auto dealerships with stores in Florida, Alabama and Mississippi.

Before moving to Florida in 2010, Frank was an Associate Attorney in the Dallas office of Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld. At Akin Gump, his practice included all aspects of corporate and securities law, with an emphasis on private investment funds.

Frank received undergraduate degrees with honors in history and business from Southern Methodist University (SMU) in 2001. He also received his MBA and J.D. from SMU in 2001, where Frank was a president’s scholar, student body president, and the student representative to the Board of Trustees. Before law school, Frank worked for Congressman Mac Thornberry in his Washington D.C. office.

Frank is a member of the State Bars of Florida and Texas. He is active in the community as a mentor with Take Stock in Children and a 2011 graduate of Leadership Pensacola. He’s served on the boards of Baptist Hospital, the Pensacola M.E.S.S. Hall children’s science museum, and the Panhandle Tiger Bay Club. He was also appointed by Governor Rick Scott to the boards of Pensacola State College and the Florida Development Finance Corporation, which is the state’s conduit bond issuer, where he served as Chair. He is currently a member of SmartBank’s Pensacola Advisory Board and a Deacon at First Baptist Church of Pensacola.

Originally from Amarillo, Texas, Frank and his wife, Stephanie, reside in Pensacola with their twin boys, Henry and Clayton, and youngest son Wesley.

Frank White was raised with conservative values in the Texas Panhandle – a place of no pretension, where neighbors help neighbors, and where work ethic, thrift, and enterprise were rewarded. His mother was a high school English teacher and his dad was a chemical engineer.

Because of the conservative values of hard work, faith, and family, Frank excelled in his academic studies at Southern Methodist University, where he was a president’s scholar, student body president, and the student representative to the Board of Trustees.

COMMUNITY LEADER

The best parts of Northwest Florida are our friends and neighbors – that’s why Frank is so involved in our community. Recognized for his business and community leadership, Governor Rick Scott appointed Frank to the Florida Development Finance Corporation Board of Directors, where he serves as Chair, and the Pensacola State College Board of Trustees, where he serves as Vice Chair. Moreover, he is a board member for Baptist Hospital, a mentor with Take Stock in Children, a lead organizer for Startup Weekend Pensacola, and a former board member of Pensacola M.E.S.S. Hall Children’s Science Museum and Panhandle Tiger Bay Club.

FAITHFUL FAMILY MAN

Frank met his wife Stephanie, a Pensacola native, at SMU. Together, they raised their three boys with the same conservative values Frank’s parents instilled in him: the values of hard work, integrity, faith, and family. He serves as a Deacon in the First Baptist Church of Pensacola and also teaches Sunday School with his wife, Stephanie.

CONSERVATIVE TO THE CORE

Frank has been volunteering for Republicans since middle school. A former Executive Director of the Dallas GOP and a lifetime member of the NRA, Frank is ready to take the conservative fight to Tallahassee. Free-market and limited-government policies will unleash private sector growth, put more power back into the hands of the people, and strengthen Florida’s middle class. That’s Frank’s fight, and he is determined to get results.

12:30pm Panel: Maximizing Your Value for Exit

When asked about their exit strategy, most small business CEOs say they’re planning to be acquired by a large prime contractor, and that their backup plan is to do an ESOP.  What’s your plan?  How do you find a buyer when you really can’t announce your intention?  What steps do you need to take NOW so that your company valuation will match the number you have in your head?
This panel will feature quick overviews from each panelist and then breakout sessions so you can discuss in smaller groups.
Subject matter experts include Brendon Dibella of StreetShares, Susan Gabay of Bluestone Capital Partners, Dorothy Tucker of Warren Averett, John M. Leitch of Winquest Engineering, Jason Northcutt of Bass, Berry & Sims, and Edward Spenceley of Bank of America/ Merrill Lynch.

1:30pm Co-opetition Strategy Session

Success in federal contracting requires creating a team of partners watching the market for opportunities. This collaborative session provides discussion of how to create a peer alliance focused on growth.

  • Partnering with commercial organizations (in a role as Sub or as JV partners)
  • Business Model Innovations
  • Better leverage the SBIR program
  • Changing Industry/Company Cultures

Hosted by Mark Swanson of Lane Five Ventures

2:30pm Panel: Are You Ready to Prime?

You’ve got the past performance, the teams, GWACs, GSA Schedules and are working on Mentor-Protégé and Joint Ventures.  It’s frustrating not to hear back from prime contractors as you are trying to develop relationships and teams.  Is it you?  Are you begging for work, or are you finding the need and the agency’s budget and determining how to carve out a new program and revenue?  Discover what agency and prime contractor representatives expect from you, before you can be considered “Ready to Prime.” This panel will feature overview and breakout sessions with the speakers for a more intimate environment.

With Tara Wagner of PEO STRI, Chris Harrington of SOCOM, Joyce McDowell of NASA-KSC, Carolyn Fries of Doolittle Institute/Eglin, Garth Arevalo of Lukos, Rob Watson of Northrop Grumman, Pete Davis of MacAulay-Brown, Tony Land of Ironclad Technology Services, Bob Yuill of Yuill Strategic Solutions, and Terry Meier of Raytheon.

Vendor Marketplace All Day Includes 1:1 time with our event partners listed below.

Let’s make it Fun, Interactive and Productive:

No one can set aside all day for both days. Attend the sessions you can. Set up meetings with your own partners during the event – there is pleanty of room to host your own small groups.

  • BUSINESS RADIO-X: Keith Hoffert of Business Radio-X will be in attendance again this year.  We’ll be adding a link so you can join the show. Get more exposure for your company by being on the air with Keith, and sending links to the show out afterwards.
  • Teaming Talks – your target areas, your socio-economic statuses, your past performance – and let’s share that information so you can have some teaming discussions.
  • Shared Capabilities PDF – will provide a downloadable document with your company profile for Small Business VIP registrations.
  • This is NOT the same old conference – we’re looking for your ideas how to make the best use of your time. Contact Listing in excel format – will be provided to all attendees after the event.

You Can’t Miss This

Focused exclusively on small business strategies for the federal marketplace, Florida GovCon Summit will broaden your thinking and provide actionable insights. Just as important as discussions with the thought leaders in attendance will be the opportunity to pursue these and other issues with your peers—fellow defense and aerospace contractors from companies with $500K to to $30 million in Revenue.

You’re NOT A STARTUP, and you don’t want to hear the same old stuff:

You’ve got active subcontracts, you’ve set up teaming agreements and even part of the way through Joint Ventures, Mentor-Protege and GSA Schedules.  You’ve got great past performance and you’re building your pipeline.  You’ve got most of your infrastructure in place.  But every time you get past one obstacle, you find out about another one!  You’re especially worried about being locked out of the market because you can’t get on the right contract vehicle!  And all this is costing so much time and money.  We’re determined to help you find the answers you need so you can walk away with an action plan and a broader range of teammates and opportunities.

Don’t miss out – space is limited.

Take your business invention from inception to commercialization by participating in the Innovation Awards contest – the most lucrative business plan competition and capital acceleration opportunity in Florida. If your company has a product or service that can demonstrate leverage opportunities and create pathways to robust local job creation, you may have what it takes to compete for cash prizes ranging from $5,000 to $100,000.

During the two-day event on April 12 and 13, 2017, at the Hilton Pensacola Beach, experts will select companies to showcase their products and services before an audience of entrepreneurs, industry leaders, and potential investors and strategic partners.

From those companies, finalists will be selected to present before a live panel of judges competing for the top cash prizes. This year the contest has more opportunities to win by providing various cash award opportunities, including at least two prizes for pre- and post-revenue businesses, a veteran-owned business, and an entrepreneurial college or university student.

Pre-Revenue

Pre-Revenue

Get the visibility and capital your startup needs. Innovation Coast is funding at least two cash prizes: $20,000 for first place and $15,000 for second place.

Post-Revenue

Post-Revenue

Scaling up can be one of the most challenging parts of building a business. UWF’s Office for Economic Development and Engagement is funding two cash prizes: $100,000 for first place and $50,000 for second place.

Veteran

Veteran

The insights and skills veterans gain while serving our country can make an impact in the business world. To recognize these heroes, Innovation Coast is funding a $10,000 cash prize for a veteran-owned business.

Student

Student

To recognize the source of talent that resides in classrooms across the region, Innovation Coast is funding a $5,000 cash prize to an entrepreneurial community college or university student.

Pre- and Post-Revenue category winners must move to, expand to, or already be headquartered in one of the following Florida counties: Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, Walton, Bay, Gulf, Wakulla or Franklin.

The world is filled with patterns.  Our software uses the pixels from each video frame to learn, detect and recognize patterns to generate intelligent video analytics.  Surveillance cameras are everywhere.  Have you ever thought about what’s on the other end of those video feeds?  Video analysts and operators in surveillance centers are trying to glean threat information from multiple video feeds.  That’s where we come in.  Our app “AVAE” learns the pixel patterns from each video feed to understand what’s normal at your location and generates threat information on the fly.

This is a very complicated and confusing time in the communications industry.
The decision of what equipment to choose and the company with which to partner is a high priority matter, especially when those decisions have a direct impact on the success of your business. This is why we believe a relationship with Southtel can be such a valuable asset to your company.
Our over thirty two year track record is an indication that we know the industry, service what we sell, and provide products that stand the test of time. Our experience in all facets of communications ensures a smooth and uneventful installation or service that will allow you to stay focused on your business and not the telecommunications business. At a time when many companies are treating telecom products and services as a commodity, we can only say that logically mission critical voice and data systems don’t fall into that category.
