Doug Willmarth is the Chief Brand Officer for Mongolian Concepts Restaurant Group, leading marketing, culinary and supply chain for Mongolian Concepts restaurant group operating over 70 create-your-own stir-fry restaurants under the Genghis Grill, bd’s Mongolian Grill, and FlatTop Grill brands.
In his career, he has specialized in creating sustainable sales growth for restaurant companies and retail brands. His expertise includes defining powerful growth strategies, bringing brands to life for guests and team, building effective marketing plans, constructing innovation pipelines, and executing marketing plans to deliver better ROI.
Before Mongolian Concepts, Doug was the Chief Marketing Officer at Wingstop fast-casual restaurants and led the National Marketing Team for Pizza Hut responsible for brand strategy, marketing calendar and product innovation teams.
Beyond the restaurant industry, Doug has led marketing teams in entertainment and retail brands including as Chief Marketing Officer of Rave Cinemas, a leading movie theater chain: Chief Operating Officer of Bullseye Media, a marketing agency specializing in retail health care; and VP of Marketing for Sally Beauty, the largest specialty beauty retailer in the US. Doug began his career in CPG brand management with PepsiCo and Kraft Foods.
Before his business career, Doug served our country as a Naval Officer and Helicopter Aviator. He was the distinguished graduate of his MBA class from San Diego State University and received his Bachelor degree with honors from the University of California, San Diego.
