Tracy Stuckrath/Thrive! Meetings & Events
Tracy Stuckrath, CSEP, CMM, CHC is a certified event planner and meetings manager whose personal mission is to “make the world healthier one event at a time.” She is also one of 15 million Americans with food allergies. Combining her more than 20 years of event planning experience and food allergies, Tracy founded Thrive! Meetings & Events in 2010 to educate the hospitality industry on how to successfully accommodate dietary needs at events.
Prior to opening Thrive!, Tracy spent her career in corporate America creating and managing events for two Olympic Games, consumer and trade magazines, an auto auction company and two trade associations. To stay abreast of industry trends, she is an active member of the International Special Events Society, Meeting Professionals International, Women Chefs and Restaurateurs, International Association of Culinary Professionals, Gluten Intolerance Group and the Food Allergy Research & Education. In her spare time, Tracy works part-time at Cook’s Warehouse working and interacting with local and national chefs and serves as the Chair of the GaMPI Fall Classic.
Dr. Mark Newton/Gwinnett Technical College
Dr. Mark Newton is the President of Newton’s LAW and is the Director of the Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management Program at Gwinnett Technical College. During the past 26 years at Gwinnett Tech he has taught courses and seminars such as Career Education, Event Planning, Energizing Professional Development as well as many other hospitality-related courses.
Mark earned his Bachelor’s from Cornell University and his master’s and doctorate degrees from University of Georgia.
Mark started his own company, Newton’s LAW in order to meet the demand for his speaking and consulting services. The company name is based on the philosophy that Learning leads to Achieving, resulting in Winning; thus the acronym LAW.
Mark is a member of the National Speakers Association – Georgia Chapter and won the Speaker of the Year award in 2002.
Vanessa Parker/What She Does and The Pink Boss
Vanessa Parker balances family and entrepreneurship with flare and a style all her own. Her mission and purpose is to empower women to use their passion and skills to generate income that will allow them the flexibility to do what they love every day. Parker has taught several entrepreneurship workshops and is currently teaching her Jr. CEO curriculum in the metro Atlanta area. She credits her success to community involvement and her drive to help women become economically self sufficient through entrepreneurship.
