Ava Leigh Stewart, Filmmaker, Artist & Author
Ava Leigh Stewart is a prolific author whose work extends from fiction to non-fiction novels, as well as illustrated poetry books. Stewart is also a screenwriter and contributor to many publications. She works in the entertainment industry creating content for film and television.
Stewart has written, produced, and directed feature and short films, television shows, commercials, and music videos. Stewart launched her film career after earning a film degree in London, England. She garnished attention after directing, producing, and writing an award winning short film entitled, Keepers of the Gate. In 2011, she completed a feature narrative film debut entitled, South of Southern. In 2015, she finished Paradise Garden, which is a feature documentary about historic preservation. She has created two original television shows, Sisters of Suburbia and OOPARTS. She continues to work on a myriad of production projects.
She began her career climbing the ranks of news production in the department of production and graphic design for CNN Television. She was nominated by her superiors to spearhead the team that implemented digital asset management across all divisions of CNN and Turner Broadcasting. She took a position at CNN Digital Networks and was instrumental in CNN’s coverage of September 11th, The War in Afghanistan, and The War in Iraq.
Her poetry books include, Intus, Beyond Fear, Revealed, Fledgling Darlings, Symphony of Chaos, and Waxing Eloquent. The poems and illustrations explore our history, mystery, and human experience. She continues to work on new innovative writing projects.
She is also an artist and her work has been exhibited worldwide. She was chosen as a finalist in the 2009 Red Bull Art of Can competition for her sculpture Alternative Energy displayed at the Union Station museum in Washington D.C. Her photography was featured in the documentary, “A million little pieces,” that debuted in San Francisco in 2009. She was featured in an exhibition at the Emily Harvey Foundation and The Brooklyn Museum of Art in New York for her graphic design entitled “Memoirs of Oblivion.” In 2014 and 2015, she was selected as a finalist for the International Women in Focus photography competition.
She recently released “Finster,” a film about Howard Finster, the grandfather of the Southern Folk Art movement.

She has a professional background in management, human resources, corporate training, business consulting and talent development. Patricia has worked with companies in the service, music, banking, manufacturing, publishing, warehousing, healthcare, academic, retail and financial industries, and has taught management classes as an adjunct professor.
Patricia has a degree in Human Resource Management, is certified as a Career Coach and Consulting Hypnotist and is MBTI qualified.
Her volunteer energies are focused on Women in Film and Television-Nashville, where she is a Board Vice President; Dress for Success as the Advisory Board President; and International Coaching Federation-Nashville where she held Board roles for several years.

She enjoys songwriting, creating poetry and has written a one-woman show and artistic speech she performs titled Hello, Self…, about a woman in midlife reinventing herself, which led to her new book by the same name, available here.
On the personal side, Patricia, describes herself as a woman, lover of life, mother, grandmother, career professional and message artist; AND in that order! Her goal is to continue inspiring others, of any age, to START NOW creating and expanding their Runway to Success.
