They work with their clients to develop change-focused campaigns. From message research and development to political campaign consulting and fundraising, they design and launch initiatives that bring together powerful storytelling and effective advocacy, with life-altering results.
A co-founder of Javelina, Catherine Alonzo has been advancing Arizona’s marketing and advocacy industries for over a decade. Catherine has been an integral part of significant policy and communications campaigns in Phoenix, including the teams that elected Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton, Tempe Mayor Mark Mitchell and passed the MovePHX Campaign in support of Prop 104, a sales tax increase to support comprehensive transportation expansion in the city of Phoenix.
Originally from the UK, Catherine moved to Arizona in 2005 to complete her Master’s Degree in Public Administration at Arizona State University. She has been instrumental in building Javelina into one of the Valley’s leading branding and marketing agencies.

Ray Schey is the Market President & Publisher of the Phoenix Business Journal, a weekly business publication reaching over 60,000 business professionals in the Phoenix, AZ area. Ray is responsible for managing all day to day aspects of the publication.
Within one year of joining American City Business Journals, Ray was promoted to the role of Publisher in May 2014 after leading a successful sales effort as Director of Advertising at the Milwaukee Business Journal. Both the Phoenix Business Journal and the Milwaukee Business Journal are owned by American City Business Journals headquartered in Charlotte, NC.
Prior to his roles with American City Business Journals, he was the Director of Advertising at the Rochester Business Journal from June 2008 through April 2013. Most of his earlier career was spent in sales and sales management in radio and television.
Ray has been involved in numerous community and charitable organizations in his career. He is a member of Greater Phoenix Leadership and serves on the board of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University. He is also a board member of Downtown Phoenix, Visit Phoenix, the Arizona Tech Council and the Maricopa Community Colleges Foundation Board
Ray received a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Bonaventure University in Journalism and is a graduate of McQuaid Jesuit High School in Rochester, NY.

She has received both the prestigious “Diversity Leader of the Year” and the Scottsdale Chamber of Commerce’s “Sterling Award.” She was also awarded a Silver Stevie Award for Female Entrepreneur of the Year 2015 and was a finalist for the Junior League of Phoenix’s Valley Impact Award. Jodi is a devoted single parent who volunteers her time at her daughters’ school programs and with organizations such as Angel Mamas, where she’s served on the board for three years.
