Amber M. Johns is a principal at Jackson Corporate Law and her practice focuses on international business and corporate law. Ms. Johns humble beginning started in the small gold mining town of Grass Valley, located in the Northern foothills of California. As a child, she loved camping and horseback riding. Ms. John’s legal career began in 2004 when she participated in an exchange program at UC Berkeley, where she got her undergraduate degree. The exchange program would take her to Paris, France where she would study international relations and the European Union at Sciences-Po, the most prominent political science institution in France. During her time at Science -Po she became captivated by the debates surrounding the unification of Europe and how the law was the fundamental tool of organization. Combining her love of the French language and culture with a legal career, Ms. Johns envisioned the business prospects of a career path in international law where she could advise French and francophone businesses on international strategies and growth. This vision led Ms. Johns to other international experiences such as interning for the United Nations at the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda in Arusha, Tanzania and studying international law in Venice, Italy. Her pursuit of a practice in international business led her to join Jackson Corporate Law in 2013. Today, Ms. Johns advises small and medium-sized businesses on corporate structuring and international business. However, she specializes in working with businesses who have international offices or who have distribution and trade agreements with foreign companies, particularly in France and West Africa, and she provides corporate legal services for foreign companies doing business in the United States.
