Stacy Robello recently became one of the new owners at Home Instead Senior Care of Pensacola.  She was a founding member of the franchise in 1999 until late 2001. After receiving her BA in Elementary Education from the University of West Florida, she left to pursue her career as an educator in one of Florida’s top ranked systems; Santa Rosa County School District. But when the Home Instead office was granted their Home Health Agency license from the State of Florida in 2006, Stacy was inspired to return; this time as a Community Educator addressing issues specific to the aging population and as a promoter of the many home care services offered by Home Instead. Even now as an owner, Stacy still helps drive referrals and builds relationships within the provider network which includes but is not limited to: hospitals, assisted living facilities, home health agencies, rehab facilities and hospice, etc. In addition, she also manages the web marketing in the Pensacola office which includes updating the company’s local website, email marketing and daily posts on their social media pages.  Some of Stacy’s affiliations are with the Baptist Women’s Board, Escarosa Senior Alliance, Santa Rosa Healthcare Advocates and the Healthcare Professionals Association of Northwest Florida.

Stacy is more enthusiastic than ever about being an owner of the Home Instead Senior Care team and watching the company expand to meet the needs of the community she serves.  When the opportunity arose to take ownership of the office, she didn’t hesitate. She’s excited to continue the tradition of bringing exceptional home care to the Pensacola community.

A native Central Floridian, after his sophomore year at the University of Florida, Alan Roberts moved to New York City to work in radio and film. He returned to Florida in 2013, moving to the Santa Rosa Beach/30A area to work for a friend’s business. Seeing the exponential growth of TripShock.com in the Destin market, he moved to Pensacola in early 2016 to open the market for the company. He has since signed over 30 Navarre, Pensacola Beach, Orange Beach, and Gulf Shores businesses for the site. He currently resides in Perdido, where he enjoys golf, cycling, and the occasional jet ski dolphin tour.

Stefanie Diaz and Hogan Bassey

Hogan Bassey /Livful, Inc.

Hogan Bassey is Livful, Inc.’s, CEO and co-founder. Although Hogan brings his experience as a business analyst and management consultant to the Livful team, some would argue his most important contributions to Livful are his experience fighting malaria as a child in Nigeria and his passion for using science and technology to save lives and transform communities.

Traditional methods for repelling insects and preventing mosquito-borne diseases aren’t fully effective and are difficult to use. Mosquito netting, chemicals like DEET, household sprays, burning coils and vaccines don’t provide the full protection, easy application or pleasant experience that people need to guard against insect bites and diseases.

Livful created a plant-based, micro-encapsulation technology to deliver a repellent that insects hate and humans love to use. Families, governments and health organizations can stop wasting money and start saving lives. https://twitter.com/LivFulinc

Stefanie Diaz/Mastermind Your Launch

Stefanie Diaz has always had a keen ability for developing marketing strategies for entrepreneurs, but it’s her ability to position startups for accelerated momentum through personal branding and content marketing that has become the cornerstone to her professional success. Her background includes being a strategic adviser to CEO’s spanning startup phase to over $100 million in annual revenue. She has led strategic partnerships with global retailers and Fortune 500 companies, as well as facilitated multi-million dollar government contracts. There is something magnetic about the energy of startup founders that draws Stefanie in. They’re hungry, driven, and committed to making positive change for themselves and the greater community. Today we discussed a topic that is applicable to everyone. Our focus for today is on simple skills that can really change and improve your life. This topic has been split into two shows because of how dense this topic is, but we took the time to really explain each skill, and talk about the ways to make these skills a part of your daily routine. We are covering four of these skills today: scheduling around your energy, looking successful, starting early, and planning in advance.

To start off the show, we talked about scheduling around energy. Scheduling around energy is a way to allow you to work in the most efficient way possible. Knowing when you have the most energy and when you are most focused in the day, allows for your day to be prioritized. It is okay to take time to rest throughout the day and take some time to let your brain take a break. Your energy is not infinite, and understanding how to plan your day based on energy is a great way for you to become more productive.

dress for success

The next skill we looked at was looking successful. Look the part to play the part! Sometimes we forget that the way we dress makes a lasting impression. Knowing how to dress for each situation is a a great way to ensure success. The way we dress presents a certain image, and we always want to present the best side of ourselves.

Third skill we looked at is starting early. Starting early allows us to make the most out of the day. When we start early, we get more hours in the, meaning we get to be that much more productive.

plan in advanceThe last skill we looked at today, is planning in advance. Planning is a way to stay on track and make sure that we get as much done as possible. Knowing that situations are always subject to change, we must remain adaptable in our planning.

These four skills are great ways we can start making a change towards success in our life. Next time, we are going to take a look at four more skills that can really make a change in life and lead you towards success.

On today’s show, we took a look at the idea of vacation in the working world and how important it is to take some time off. Everyone likes to  have the ability to take time off, have a time in which we allows ourselves to get away from the schedule of working life. However, even when on vacation, it has become common to continue working and emailing. What many people forget though, is the purpose of taking time off and going on a trip. This can often leading people to have the need to take longer vacations because they don’t take the time to check out completely.

Vacation-prep-essentials

One of the key reasons vacation often turns into working remote, is the fear of missing out. There is an inherent fear that taking time away from the office will lead to a loss of important information and participation. There is a fear that taking time away from the office will cause people to fall behind and  be outside of the professional loop. While these fears are common among professionals, today, we have taken a look at why it is essential to go on vacation.

The importance of checking out is vital for everyone. Vacation is a time to reconnect with our realities and families and with that which really matters to us. It is a time to disconnect and reconnect- disconnecting from the office and reconnecting to your own personal life. Sometimes we forget how necessary this time off is for our own physical, mental, and emotional health. Career advancement is not just the ability to climb the professional ladder, but is the ability to grow and expand your knowledge, something that taking time off facilitates.

Attachment-1 (1)

Companies are now starting to introduce the idea of unlimited vacation. This allows employees to take as much vacation as they want, as long as all their work is getting done. While this does cause the need for legal coverage and a very descriptive plan and negotiation, the business benefits of unlimited vacation are strong arguments for implementation.  A rather revolutionary idea and one that may provide to be even more beneficial, this may prove to be the future of vacation time allowances.

Amanda Sellers

Spectrum Science

This week I sat down with Executive Vice President of Spectrum Science’s recently-opened Atlanta office, Amanda Sellers.  Amanda has been with the Washington DC-based communications firm for over 11 years and has been focused on communications strategy throughout her professional career.

Amanda came by to talk about how award-winning Spectrum Science focuses their work primarily on health and science aspects of their clients’ businesses, typically consumer products companies, pharma, medical technology, and research organizations.  With a team comprised of experts from a variety of backgrounds such as health and science, of course, and communications/journalism, they are uniquely qualified to help these organizations highlight the value of their products or research findings to distinguish them in the marketplace and achieve greater customer loyalty and appreciation for their quality.

We talked about the fact that the firm is able to handle new product launches and introductions of innovations to existing product lines, as well as effectively managing public relations communications during crisis or negative events around a client’s products.  And they have filled these roles for numerous well-known enterprises.

Amanda explained that Spectrum Science is accustomed to collaborating with an enterprise’s marketing team, R&D, and any external creative/ad agencies to be able to effectively craft and tell the company’s story.  A full-service firm, the company is able to produce the full gamut of media formats needed, along with expertise necessary to distribute/amplify the message across the intended target audiences.

The team at Spectrum Science has been the recipient of numerous awards for their work, including Sabre Awards, and The Holmes Report 2016 Healthcare Agency of the Year.  As their announcement of The Holmes Report award states, “Our independent agency has grown tremendously in the last two years – we’ve opened offices in New York and Atlanta, won significant new business, and welcomed some of the PR industry’s most respected senior communications counselors to make their home at Spectrum. The “One Spectrum” ideology drives the agency’s culture, bringing together the best talent and expertise regardless of geography to deliver the best thinking for clients. We operate as one firm across all offices, sharing teams and resources, with a single P&L.”

Ginger Birnbaum // Cystic Fibrosis Foundation  Twitter Linkedin Facebook

Ginger Birnbaum, mother of a child living with CF, is the President of the local Board of Directors for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. An active volunteer in the community, it was only natural that she begin working with the Foundation when her child was diagnosed with the disease. She is an advocate, a fundraiser, and an event planner.

Kathleen Puri // Fitsi Health  Twitter Linkedin Facebook

Kathleen began nursing more than 30 years ago in critical care, working as a staff nurse and charge nurse. After earning her masters degree in nursing management from the University of Connecticut and relocating to Tennessee she began teaching Fundamentals and Medical Surgical nursing at Chattanooga State Community College. She has always been bothered by the fact that patients have a difficult time independently performing hand hygiene and basically do not perform this most basic health promotion activity while hospitalized. With the help of her daughter and a medical designer she developed a patented bedside solution so patients can easily access hand sanitizer and have a place to store personal items such as glasses and cell phone. This innovation, called Fitsi, recently won second prize at the Patient Safety Movement Foundation conference where more than 60 international entries competed for the awards.

The Greater Eastside Chamber of Commerce (GECC) is the recognized voice of the business community in the cities of Snellville, Loganville and Grayson. It is the premiere source of business information, networking and education in the area. The Chamber is also a powerful force in working alongside other local organizations to bolster the efforts of community outreach and charitable causes. The Greater Eastside Chamber of Commerce is the forum “where business and community meet.”

Mayor Dan Curry/City of Loganville

The City of Loganville is located within both Walton and Gwinnett Counties and is centrally located between Atlanta and Athens, GA. Loganville’s schools maintain the school of excellence status and the city is only minutes from major universities and technical colleges including the University of Georgia, Gwinnett Technical College and Athens Technical College.

Loganville’s tag line of “Where People Matter” is more than a phrase. It’s a constant reminder of the values and principles that make the community great. The unique blend of hometown feel mixed with modern conveniences is why so many companies and organizations find Loganville a great place to open their doors and prosper.

If you are looking for a small community with amenities of a larger city, great schools, planned development, and ample business opportunities, the City of Loganville should be the star on your map.
