Keep Exploring creates ripples of change starting within their local community here in Phoenix. Currently working with The Children’s First Foundation they plan to complete a documentary series that will be provided through The Children’s First Foundation website after October 20th. Their vision is to keep exploring with a network of highly skilled photographers while making a difference. Each client brings them the opportunity to create work that become unique and valuable. Their team brings each client the dynamic, energetic, authentic, and expressive imagery that they are looking for. Keep Exploring works to bring the best of the best to the environment of your choice.

Farah Kanaan’s passion for photography started at a young age and has grown to explore as much as she can when she can. She has the drive to push her work further and in doing so gives back, donating work to The Children First Foundation, Xavier College Preparatory, and donations to the African Wild Life Foundation when a canvas is bought, or through inquiring Keep Exploring. She is currently working on a side project, starting a non-profit called “Everything Beautiful” where she and her business partner, Jamie, the owner of Cast Salon and Spa are growing an artist community at High Street near Desert Ridge. This non-profit will be a quarterly event starting November 3rd. Cast Salon and Spa will be hosting their first gallery night, inviting the public, local artist and vendors to bring creativity to their community. She is even a part of ASU School of Arts Student Council and plans to help her team enhance the School of Arts at ASU.

Northlight Gallery at the ASU Herberger Institute’s School of Art exhibits a broad spectrum of photo-based work by emerging, underrepresented and internationally recognized artists. The gallery serves the university community and the public with exhibitions and gallery talks by national and international artists and is vital to the education of students earning a degree in photography. Northlight Gallery was founded on the Tempe campus by Professor Jack Stuler and MFA photo students in 1972 at a time when the medium was struggling to be recognized locally as a fine art. Now over 4 decades later, photography and related digital technologies dominate contemporary art as well as our daily lives. The new Northlight Gallery is housed at the Grant Street Studios building in downtown Phoenix, offering greater visibility and possibilities for public engagement.

Liz Allen has served as the curator of Northlight Gallery at Arizona State University since 1999. The exhibitions she curates demonstrate her profound interest in understanding, interpreting, and teaching the richness of photography as an evolving medium to an expanding community. The mission of the gallery under her direction has developed a dialog between established, emerging, and underrepresented artists working in a broad spectrum of photo-based media in collaboration with scholars also interested in challenging our perceptions of the human experience.

Ines Piquet fell in love with photography while taking a photojournalism class, and this happened twice, back in Rio, where she is from, during college in the 80’s; and in LA, when Ines was taking broadcasting classes at UCLA, a decade later. This second time got her hooked for good. She has been taking pictures since the late 90’s and started doing it professionally early 2000’s; but back then, only on a part-time basis.

Ines had a very nice job and doing photography on the side allowed her to choose the jobs she wanted to take. Ines is a black and white film photographer, who used to love getting lost in a darkroom with all those chemicals and tools. Naturally, when things turned digital she had a hard time adjusting. Photography has always been a huge passion of hers and this year Ines not only unleashed the courage to do it full-time, she also started a new genre: women magazine-inspired portraits.

This is something, fun and Ines is still in the process of building a folio. She love everything about it, from planning the shot, to shooting, to delivering the images during the viewing session. Making women feel beautiful is the greatest job ever!
